ROUGHEST SPORT IN THE WORLD | Kok Boru World Nomad Games Day 4 | Кок-бору

✈️ We created an app to help you save up to 80% on international flights! Try it risk free ➡️ faredrop.app/ytd_181114 ⬅️
Kok boru (Кок-бору) has to be the most dangerous sport in the world. We got a front row seat on day 4 at the World Nomad Games, and it was the roughest sport we’ve ever seen. Kok Boru is like rugby but on horseback, using a headless goat as the “ball.” The winning team takes home the (very tender) goat to feast on for dinner. | Travel vlog 555 | Kyrgyzstan | Country #82

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this KZread channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Nice and kind video, thanks for introducing Kyrgyz culture and traditional nomad games. Its a pity that American team lost the game, but believe me every Kyrgyz was surprised by enormous efforts of American team and willingness to play equal as Kyrgyz. You didnt loose, you won this game! And the loudest applaud in a tribune is confirming your Victory! Kyrgyz ancient nation in Central Asia, and demonstrate their hospitality and reach nomad culture. Kyrgyz - only holders of true nomadic traditions in Central Asia. Kok-boru is very rough game for real men with steel nerves, brave hearts and strong behavior. Others, play other light copies of Kok-Boru. Actually, paramedic asked you if Nate is your husband? He is an older person and as usually dont know English. And as for the language. Kyrgyz speak in Kyrgyz language, but most Kyrgyz can understand Russian, but third of them cannot speak well in Russian. Since its Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyz Jer) And the other interesting thing that English becomes more and more popular among Kyrgyz nation. I guess in some years, you will not have huge problems in understanding each other. We learn, and we want to speak in the most popular language and be a part of huge world. Thanks again for your video and presentation. Welcome to Kyrgyz Jer - the country of high snowy peaks and clear water. There are so much to explore and discover.

This was last week and I was watching these videos at the time and told her about the nomad games. So now she’s excited for your vlogs and to try to see the next round of nomad games! These are the traditions of the nomads. The steppe people. The steppe ais the place where the only way of survival is hunting and having livestock and eating meat. Nowadays Noone practices these seemingly brutal sports or hunting because central Asian countries are quite modern. But nomad people have totally different mindset about nature and animals. You can't judge other peoples culture based on your own views. It's ignorant.

sa Ba Your right you shouldn't judge a peoples culture on your own views, except that often people don't understand there own culture for example in the west we don't use carcasses in our sports ,but we do use leather from dead animals for balls.Really carrying a dead animal around a field is not that different from kicking a leather football.in my country Ireland we still have foxhunting and hare coursing which actually use live animals and in spain they still have bullfighting

Oh my gosh ya'll. This is amazing. I have been following you guys for about a year or so...and we homeschool our kids ages 6 and 9. Your vlogs have become our source for geography. We sit down, watch your episodes and then get our our globe and figure out where you are in the world. The kids and I love it! My 6 year old decided that for her birthday (next june) she would either like to swim with whalesharks, do a cruise down the nile, or go to zip city.... so thanks guys for the tripspiration!! (and she may now be completely bummed with all birthdays since they probably won't involve whalsharks or the nile-hopefully she'll like zip city.) haha Happy and safe travels!

What an intense video!! So cool that USA is representing🇺🇸🇺🇸!!! It’s interesting to read others thoughts on the video because of the horse treatment but we have to understand the culture and history behind it all. That’s what’s great about y’all sharing these videos, it opens our eyes to other parts of the world and different cultures! Great editing Kara👍🏼 USA, USA, USA!!! 🙂🇺🇸♥️ Stay you 😘

So you own and ride horses then do you? From horse woman I can tell you these horses aren't treated badly, horses love to run. I didn't see any bad treatment.

@@personincognito3989 Kyrgyz and Kazakh people and horses are one family. They grow up together, they created bonds for over 3000 years. Horses meat is also popular there. All their life and economy goes around horses. IF they treat them badly, its like destroying your own culture.

Tracy Z even know it’s their culture it does not change the fact that it is horse abuse and I understand it’s their culture but they need to realize what they are doing is awful.
