Congratulation to NJ for the short story By Noon. I loved its laid back, humorous and relaxing tone with added mystery after every line. It reminded me of the prologue to Needful Things by Stephen King where you are going through the town of Castle Rock and getting to every place character and backstory with humorous observations and asides Congratulations again👍😊

Hello! I wrote the tree and grizzly poems and I really appreciate the feedback! To answer your question about the age of the tree, Prometheus was a real tree in the American Southwest that was roughly 5,000 years old, pre-dating the Old Testament. The Great Basin bristlestone pine in that area are a pretty old bunch, so it would not be too much of a shock if there were a great many also in that age range. Quite the enduring species! And just for a little context about the grizzly poem, The Sunland Grizzly was a real bear killed in the 1910s in the Los Angeles area. As far as the record goes, The Sunland Grizzly was the second to last grizzly bear in the state of California, the last one having been spotted roaming Sequoia national park and then never again.
