Rothenburg Is one of my favorite places to visit in Germany. I don’t recall the Bakery name but it was located right next to the McDonalds. It had the BEST Käse Kuchen I have ever eaten in all my travels. It was called Oma’s Käse Kuchen. If you are ever there you need to try it out. BONUS TIP: visit during the Christmas Season. Rothenburg Is magical during Christmas.

I found this interesting. I had a great-great grandmother and her father immigrate to Wisconsin, USA from St. Gallen Switzerland. Their name was Rothenberger. In Wisconsin we love our ethnic foids. Mine are from Germany, and Scandinavia.

Your channel brings me a bitter-sweet experience haha! Bitter bc it makes me miss Germany and your food so much. Sweet bc it’s the only way I can see Germany and your lecker traditional and non traditional food :)! The Schneeball looks decadent; bigger than I thought. Both sauberbratens are rich and definitely satisfying. Ooohh and the fried fish! YES!! I haven’t found a caraway seed bread here, but when I find one I’m sure I’m going to love it since I enjoy a cup or two of your Fenchel-Anis-Kümmel tee :)

All are delicious foods, I like those dishes. The beef might be pretty tender, different from usual steak. The dumplings may be similar to mainland China 🇨🇳 or other Asia areas’ cooking. I found many kinds of fried or steamed or stewed dumplings at some restaurants or breakfast shops in Taiwan 🇹🇼, but no square shaped, long or half moon shaped. Also I found some German bread bakeries at many cities in Taiwan 🇹🇼, it’s seemed getting popular in the island day by day.

Hello again!!! I seem to be writing you a lot these days. However, I love "kummel" and you mentioned it in this video. I grew up within an Italian family so I don't think it was used very much. I am certain that it is the years I spent in Germany that awakened me to the flavor and delights of kummel. I have always wondered why the use of this spice is so common in Germany. I am sorry if this question is difficult to answer but - Why do you think this developed??? Thanks David

Are you water conscious there? Do you drink a lot of water? Is your water purified? The food looks wonderful! My great grandfather was full German. I would like to go there one day for visit. I have tasted different items from our World market here in U S. Every Christmas we would have hot chocolate with fruit filled ginger cakes bread covered with chocolate. I have seen the Mozart sweet you mentioned in another video. Now I will have to try it. Love your videos. My husband made some sausages from here that had cheese that were soo good. We have apple sausage here, Do you have that? I love horse radish that dish with egg noodles would love to try that. What do those berries taste like? We have boysenberries that are really good. Do you eat cranberry there?

I would say that we are water conscious and that we do drink a lot of water. I don't use purified water though. Trying new food is great! I also enjoy it so much! And yeas, sausages with cheese are incredible, I haven't heard about apple sausages though - I need to google this one :) Those berries I talked about are called "Wilde Preiselbeeren" and I think the translation is "Lingonberries". Those are similar to cranberries.

Sorry, but to eat really good Franconian food I would not recommend to go to Rothenburg. The restaurants in Rothenburg serve tourists who come once in their lifetime and can be served any junk. Restaurants in small non-touristy Franconian villages serve their local customers and are depending on their returning, hence offer a better quality of food.

I see your point. As a food guide my goal is to prepare videos for tourists though. Tourists are in touristy places therefore those will be always my first choice. They spend in Franconia tops 3 days traveling around by train. They won’t go to smaller villages just for food. So yes, hope you understand my point too.
