Very interesting video. Comparing a new amp to a twenty years older amp just shows the evolution of HIFI. The comparison of the Leak 230 to a Rotel a 10, for example, would have shown other results. The differences would have been a lot smaller, may be even not recognizable.
I like B more. The Leak has a very (too) bright sound. B is better! B is more relaxed. Listened with Sennheiser IE800s, on my tablet.
Funny i could tell the leak as it still has its open aired character as its vintage amps do. I do like Rotel and think they've always been underrated, maybe the vs should have been leak 230 vs Rotel a12.
If amps had tone controls like they used to this would be a moot point

I think it's a matter of taste. The Leak is more dynamic and sharp (clear), I personally don't like that for longer listening. Rotel is buttery smooth, my taste. Allthough to have the Leak Bass on the Rotel would be nice. 😊

Leak 230 has more soundstage but the high frequencies, at some tracks, agggg. Probably it need a lot of burning!
In my opinion, the Leak wins for a safe margin, there was a track where I found the HF a bit too much , but for the most part it just nailed it.

I use a Tascam and record in WAV 24 bit/96kHz.
From my position going through my devices which may affect the sound quality they sound to similar to concern . Pick what you like between the two. I have to say i prefer Rotel. I have a 1592 MKII . I compared my Rotlel with Michi ,& Mac& went with Rotel and much better speakers had i gone with the Mac ,or Michi
The leak stereo 230 amplifier sounds much better than the Rotel, the leak sound is more open and more detailed

Leak is more open sounding, but Rotel is not bad either, I would accept both, to be honest. Anyway, the Wharfedale Linton rules!
Although not a fair comparison because of wattage difference, on tonal front Leak wins. Better mids and sound is more open. I heard attached to a stereo/ hi fi system.
The leak had deeper stronger base, and actually the treble was considerably clearer too, quite a big lead for the Leak. But for what you paid for the Rotel that amp is a steal.

If u have bright speakers go with the leak and vice versa
Rotel sounds muffled and blurry. My vote for Leak (despite the fact that this is the first time I've heard this name).
A is clearly better than B.
