My mother just had rotator cuff surgery and I could not find any decent instructions on how to put the shoulder sling immobilizer on. We had to adjust it and it slid down so we took it off and started over. Your instructions on how to put this immobilizer on was very helpful as well as the instructions for the exercises. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. :)

Excellent content, thoroughly but concisely presented. I'm just starting Week 4 of post-op, and it's daunting to be reminded of how long the recovery will require. There's no way around it, you have to go through it. SO wish it had been my left side, if it had to be either. Thanks for this video!

This is a very good video and very useful.. I have just had a shoulder decompression with a rotator cuff repair and this video is very useful. Some of the exercises shown in here are on the little booklet the hospital gave me. The only thing that wasn't mentioned on the booklet is the "Timing" re: when to start exercising or how much. This video gives more info that I have had so far. So thank you.. :)

It's not a "rotator cuff arthroscopy" that would give you a tendon damage but the damage that you did to your shoulder .I had my shoulder popped once and since than i noticed my biceps hanging down.i went to a specialist and he told me that my biceps tendon disconnected from the shoulder muscle and also my rotator cuff had severe damage all around we found out after dye contrast MRI .I just had my surgery done 07/26/13 today is the forth day after surgery and i hope to be back on my bike soon .

6-12 months to heal? Is that for a full thickness tear? I'm scared to see what kind of tear I have....

What a good video! You answered questions I didn't even know I had. Not only that, your presention was flawless. One complaint: you presumed 'spouse' in the house. Suppose instead a spouse who requires care herself - and no outside help? Add to that the reasonable guess that one cannot drive a car - legally or practically - with their arm in that elaborate sling. Nevertheless, excellent video.

Dr Hawkins,I love your videos.... Could a rotator cuff arthroscopy give you a biceps tendon damage like "Popeye muscle"? Regards Bob.
