If you're out beyond the wire and have to have a journalist embedded with you, Ross is the best. He understands what's going on, he keeps his cool, doesn't get in anyone's way, knows when to shut up and when to give input. Straight up not being a liability let's the troops do their work. He deserves my utmost respect for his courage and professionalism.

You don't see the enemy at all so all you need is to simply fire towards the direction the bullets are being fired from just to lay down some suppressing fire. So doesn't really matter whether you aim properly or not since there is no target. Besides that guy had the gun really steady even though he was firing with one hand. Watch some videos of Rhodesian soldiers fighting guerrillas in the 70s and 80s and you'll realize they barely ever used sights and simply fired without aim at the direction they believed the firing came from. And those soldiers were amongst the finest anti insurgent forces ever.

@Luis Bolanos its more to do with perspective and purpose than to what extent any party is trained. The insurgent forces, taliban and so are, are fighting a holy war for what they perceive as the protection and liberation of their homes, lives, and land. Versus NATO forces who are there under the orders of a politician they'll never meet and have little to no affect on their lives and are there for essentually a paycheck. Which situation would you see an individual more aggressively willing to lay their lives down?

TraviansLittleHelpe in the US the term Asian refers to East Asia and South East Asia (China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam etc), but in the UK, because the number of Indians/Pakistanis/Bangladeshis/Sri Lankans is probably ten times the number of Chinese and Japanese living in Britain, we usually mean Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi when we use the word 'Asian'. The reason why there are about 3 million Indian, Sri Lankans, Bangladeshi and Pakistanis in the UK, compared to the number of Chinese and Japanese and Korean people in the UK is because of the old 'British Raj'. In other words India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka were British territories for a few hundred years up to 1947, so there is still are strong political, economic, social and cultural links with those countries, on the other hand China, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Taiwan, Thailand etc were not controlled by the European Empires, so the East Asian countries don't have any close ties and historical links with any western countries). By the way, if you look at a map, Asia stretches from Turkey and Israel (West Asia), India, Pakistan, Iran etc (SW Asia), Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, etc (Central Asia), Burma, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam etc (SE Asia), and China, Japan, Korea, Mongolia Taiwan etc (East Asia), so anyone from any of those countries are actually Asian, including Afghans.

This was brilliantly setup, and an advert for the British army. within 2 minutes of contact with the enemy, arty was raining down, and a minute later, a GBU12 had fell off the pylon of a jet... The position, less than 2 miles from the base. No wonder the afgan kid was happy to stand there. There were other clips from this series that appeared a little less staged.
