Rachel and Ross is always love each other. Rachel went to the airport to tell him she loved him but could only get the gate attendant to pass on a message which he never received. Rachel went on a date to try to move on but couldn't because her feelings were so strong. She's devastated when Ross returns with Julie. Once they do get together, Ross and Rachel's love for each other intensify and when they breakup it's heart breaking for both because they mean so much to each other. Even after this their love refuses to die to the extent that Rachel flies to London to tell Ross she loves him and only doesn't do so because she thinks he's happy with Emily. (I agree with Rachel that Ross doesn't really love Emily). Ross is stunned when Rachel finally tells him she loves him and is in a mess because he's married to someone he doesn't really love. As time goes on they become close friends, getting married (Rachel's idea) and divorced but with both admitting that if they had a proper wedding it would last, indicating they still love each other as much as ever. Ross and Rachel continue to seek each other out for support including sleeping together for mutual benefit (when Emma is conceived) and living together as roommates on two occasions. First when Rachel has to move out of Monica's and then when she's pregnant with Emma. Rachel is horrified when she sees how distraught Ross is at her and Joey being together and whilst she pursues Joey, she knows it's not going to last. After she and Joey breakup she doesn't date anyone else because she's so in love with Ross but doesn't know he feels the same. Its not until he tells her at the airport that she discovers the depth of his love and is so overwhelmed that she boards the plane for Paris. Rachel phones Ross to tell him that she loves him and by repeating it to herself realises she's about to make a terrible mistake. Rachel gets off the plane, rejecting the dream job in Paris, so she can be with the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with. Both declare their deep love for each other saying this is it for them, they're never letting each other go again. (They even share a joke about “we were on a break").

Yeah I don’t understand it? Lol. Not to be that person but I do just think it’s the new generation of fans watching the show. It’s a different time now and nowadays everything is picked apart piece by piece. A lot of these new fans missed actually living the ups and downs of this relationship, as it happened, year by year. Ross and Rachel were the drawing point for fans back in the day! They were it. People were invested. They were a HUGE deal and still are. I remember it’s all we spoke about during lunchtime at school etc haha. Easily the one of the best tv couples of all time. The chemistry is just amazing!

@@JessKM Screw new generation fans. Those are same fans that wish the grotesque relationship of Joey and Rachel would’ve been long term. Ross and Rachel have chemistry, intimacy and love. Definitely one of the best on screen pairings in TV history.

Honestly, regardless how much I love them and Friends overall. I'm really pissed with Ross' actions. Because when you're in a relationship, there are sure arguments and conflicts that would come along but when those moments arrive you won't go and find other partners to have comfort and have sexual relationship with. Regardless how "means nothing" or "we were on a break". + His jealousy, I know his previous relationship adds up to this. But he was with Rachel not Carol anymore. He should not have involved himself to a relationship if he'd act like he did. He needs to heal. He was deeply hurt and I feel he failed to fully recognize it. + Rachel failed departure to Paris. Over the whole 10 year span of the show, she works hard to be in the fashion industry. Her independence and being resourceful was something being built throughout. Her giving it up, could have a major aftershock. But she can surely excell in that career in NYC too. (I still love the show, gave me the biggest and loudest laugh!🤣😊)
