I prefer Rachel's line "I didn't know then", the way she say it sound so intense and realistic.

Look at David's eyes and look at Jen's eyes watching David "read" the script. The passion and love in those eyes.

The look at each others eyes at 2:07 is so meaningful. They are not just acting, they are using their own feelings to make this scene comes to life. It is almost like this table-read scene was clousure not only for Ross and Rachel, but for David and Jennifer.

Still to this day how David walked away with NO emmy for his role as ROSS is highway robbery! so many moments that were over the top insanely well acted and hilarious !!

Knowing now how they were each other’s crushes and how authentic that first kiss was. Can’t imagine the emotions of the Ross and Rachel’s breakup. I read that both of them were really crying and devastated after that scene.

David divorced first in late 2017, Jen divorced months later in 2018 imo suspect timing. for years I've had this feeling that she wanted to maybe get closer to him but it didn't work out as planned, especially as he lives in the opposite sides of the country. Still last month she said they still love eachother and when asked about what kind of man she'd like next or want to be with she pretty much described David

0:33 I like the way Matthew Perry is looking at the script. Tells all about the mood at the table. In a way, if you see , they all were a little bit of Rachel,Ross,Joey,Chandler,Phoebe,Monica inside. But David and Jennifer also lived the lives , like their characters lived in the story. They just didn't get a 'closure'.

Still an extremely powerful scene even to this day. I love that they put in a little light comedy in there with the issue with the locks just to remind you that this is a sitcom..and just like Ross and Rachel's relationship there always was a little something in the way but in the end it didn't stop them. Wonderful writing.

You are right. And just because it's comedy for a large part, we don't realise it that well. But when you run the episodes again, you notice the nuances: all shades of growing up into adults, love, loss, joy, embarassment, everything delivered perfectly. All of them have an impeccable comic timing, which is actually one of the hardest things to achieve for an actor. They are all incredible actors, especially Matt, Mathew and David.

I always felt like they had feelings for each other because their amazing chemistry and now they've confirmed it.😭

Honestly, the revelation over the mutual crush now makes the chemistry make so much more sense. I mean, the sexual tension in those early seasons between the two characters was phenomenal and that's what made the relationship so famous. They had chemistry in the later seasons too, but it was a more comfortable and familiar type of chemistry which the actors also shared by that point.

Lol ,its a poxy sitcom!

Reading those lines again now in 2021, both single, multiple romances between them both that didn’t work out... they really are Ross and Rachel in real life. Always thought they’d be good together 🥺

Now we all know about real chemistry between them.. So touching and so amazing..

Arguably one of the best scenes of the show, pure drama, genius comic break the tension fail, great emotional acting. Very exciting to watch.
