This movie reel shows scenes from the city of Roskilde in the days following the liberation of Denmark in May 1945. According to the National Museum of Denmark, this film - among other things - shows resistance fighters at “Tinghuset”, departing German soldiers, the arrival of English troops and a scene from the production of the illegal paper called “Roskilde-Kureren”.
This film is a part of the archive of The National Museum of Denmark, in which the recordings are titled “Film: Privatoptagelser fra befrielsesdagene 1945 i Roskilde“.
