Rose Royce - "Wishing On A Star" 1977
singer Gwen Dickey 😊🥰✌
I'm wishing on a star
To follow where you are
I'm wishing on a dream
To follow what it means
I'm wishing on a star
To follow where you are
I'm wishing on a dream
To follow what it means
And I wish on all the rainbows that I see
I wish on all the people who really dream
And I'm wishing on tomorrow, praying it'll comes
And I'm wishing on all the lovin' we've ever done
I never thought I'd see
A time when you would be
So far away from home
So far away from me
Just think of all the moments that we'd spent
I just can't let you go, for me you were meant
And I didn't mean to hurt you, but I know
That in the game of love you reap what you sow
I feel it's time we should make up, baby
I feel it's time for us to get back together
And make the best of things, oh, baby
When we're together, whether or never
I feel it's time we should make up, baby
I feel it's time for us to get back together
And make the best of things, oh, baby
When we're together, whether or never
I'm wishing on a star
To follow where you are
I'm wishing on a dream
To follow what it means
And I wish on all the rainbows that I see
I wish on all the people we've ever been
And I'm hopin' on all the days to come and days to go
And I'm hopin' on days of lovin' you so
I'm wishing on a star
To follow where you are
I'm wishing on a star
Oh;oh;oh;
And I wish on all the rainbows that I see
I'm wishing on a star
To follow where you are
I'm wishing on a star
And I wish on all the rainbows that I see
I'm wishing on a star
To follow where you are
I'm wishing on a star
oh, oh, ah, ah
I'm wishing on a star, oh,oh
To follow where you are
I'm wishing on a star, baby
To follow wherever you might be
Wishing in a star, oh, oh
To follow where you are, oh, oh, ah, a

I'm actually sitting here close to tears thinking about the old times when life was so simple and people got on with their own lives! we didn't realise how good we had it when we were young!

As far as music goes, the 1970s and 1980s were probably the best eras. In my opinion, this was the golden age of music.

Gwen Dicky was the original female singer with Rose Royce and the best, her voice was incredible and she was beutiful with it, I believe she's still performing to this day.❤❤

I still have the LP with this song on, one day very soon I'll be buying a new record player as I miss the music so much.
In February 1977 I was at the Atlanta Airport with my wife and 1 year old son. We were waiting for a flight to LAX. Right across from us were the members of Rose Royce-- they were so friendly and engaging-- I have remembered that vividly for 46 years.
This is by far the best version of this song. Gwen's voice surely brings the lyrics to life.

Gwen Dicky IS Rose Royce!!!!!!!!!! Seriously the women is BEAUTIFUL her voice is Heavenly . Folks please bring her back. We need REAL singers not cheap imitations of a great sing.... there is pure emotion in her voice and the song "I want to get next to you" ... happy tears, with Copeland on that lead what a sweet song. Gwen come back... some bands don't like to make the first move after a bad breakup.... if she come back.... get back to the great stuff we all love!

ONE OF THE BEST SONGS OF 78 WENT TO SEE THEM AT WATFORD LIVE THEY WERE AWESOME IN THE 1980S MUCH BETTER THAN THE SHIT OF TODAY AGREE ?
Damn I love this song it takes me way back to those good old days.
👍Love it! Her voice is awesome. Terrific band. I wonder where they are & how they are these days. Gwen Dickey aka Rose Norwalt is the lead female. Bless her…I’m glad she left the USA. Her energy is great in all of the songs she sang. I read that in 2010 she suffered a spinal cord injury in her London home, leaving her reliant on a wheelchair. As of 2018, she still performed concerts while seated on stage. Bless her. 💝
