But in MMA, "defense" means backpedaling forever. In boxing the ring is smaller so you actually have to deal with attacks. Anybody can avoid getting hit all night if they can just keep backing up as long as they want.

There are no great defensive fighters in the UFC for a reason..He’s correct in that would not work in MMA

Both of them should be ashamed. The fight was pathetic. But I aint gonna hear no more about carla deserving that belt. Shes the CHALLENGER. thats THEIR word not mine. She didnt challenge anything. 100% the champ should have kept the belt here. I'm not some frothing at the mouth namajunas fan either. Hell I like carla. And I really thought she was gonna be a problem for rose.. I'd even be happy if dana vacated the belt becuause of how timid they both were. But I cant be okay with carla winning like that. They call you a challenger for a reason .. Rose dont get no pass. But the wholw take the belt from the champ mentality has merit.

I didn’t even watch this fight but I was bored listening to it. MMA is a show of martial arts skill, not running around in circles for 25 mins.

From what I saw, it looks like neither one of them wanted to fight. True, Rose Namajunas wasn't doing much in this fight but neither was Carla Esparza. Carla Esparza certainly didn't do anything to win this fight. As for "octagon control", what a load of garbage. Neither fighter had that, imo. It wasn't like Carla was chasing Rose around the octagon and FORCING Rose to fight. If she had done that, perhaps I would support that she had octagon control. However, she wasn't doing that at all. They should have declared this as a draw. That's what it was to me. Carla is just as much to blame for this boring fight as Rose is. So, why reward her? Why punish only Rose? A draw would have been a perfect punishment FOR BOTH.

I see the fight as a bad set of circumstances. Rose had rushed in the first fight with Carla and it was the first time where Rose tried to point fight someone and that just isn't her style. However, I completely understand doing everything possible to keep it on the feet with someone like Carla who will lay on top of someone for 5 rounds.

Draw for sure, but draws lower sales, I'm guessing.

And now this! End of the fight she was like, ' I'm the best' and all fired up like she actually did anything during the entirety of the match. Something seems off up there

Lmao casuals 😂 it happens, it’s mma. Watch mma for another year or two, maybe you’ll get it, it’s not a big deal. Sometimes two fighters are overly cautious. Also it’s funny how you shit on rose for 3 minutes then say “ I hope she doesn’t let it get to her head that people are shitting on her, I hope she leaves this in the past” your one of the people making it hard for her to leave it in the past. By a technical standpoint this was no boring fight. Both women had extreme one sided danger on the other side so they were both cautious. If it’s basketball, currys not just gonna try to run in the paint and dunk on Joel embiid. He has to think of a way to get around him, and if he can’t he passes the ball. There’s no tagging out in mma. This take is garbage.

So what i'm hearing is that ppl are upset cause u guys wanted Rose to win but she just had a typical bad day, which happens in fighting. Not saying she's bad or good, just saying the reality is she had a bad fight night, highly likely lost (according to my eyes and those of experts), I don't see the problem here. Bad fights can happen, losses can happen, you pay for these same fights knowing this can happen, why is everyone b***ing?
