Yeah it’s obvious that she just wants a father for her children, which is not a bad thing to want. Ed saying that he didn’t want children was the final straw that ended t he relationship. If she was a gold digger the relationship would’ve ended when he could no longer give her money and gifts, but that’s not what happened.

Hey i just wanna say many of us Filipinos are very protective of our countrymen/countrywomen if you treat one of us like Ed treated Rose trust me you will regret it. Plus Rose is a Queen and she will definitely rise to the top.

I- you’re joking right. “Too irresponsible to have children”. Excuse me??? She is extremely responsible. She may have lived in poverty, but look at how she took care of her child. Now I see where you can say that there are people who can’t afford to take care of children, but I know personally that many parents want children because they love children. People who live in poverty would obviously love to live in luxury, but don’t think for a minute that they can’t do anything. I know this personally because my parents were in that place before (I was too young to really understand) but my parents raised me amazingly. They wanted the best for me and they did everything they could to give me an amazing childhood. Rose is a strong mother and is very much responsible enough to raise two more kids.

It’s horrible how he treat that poor woman, she was so kind and lovely it truly broke my heart seeing her cry in the reunion. Ed you can’t treat people like this please work on your insecurities so you can have a healthy relationship.

A big section on this video was dedicated to the STD question and how Rose got offended and hurt about the question. However, the editors of this video failed to mention an important detail related to that question and why people was mad at Ed. When Ed asked Rose to take an STD test, she said that she would agreed as long as they both took it. His response was that he didn’t feel comfortable taking the STD test in the Philippines as he wasn’t sure if it was safe for him to do it there. Why was it okay for Rose to do it but not good enough for him? That’s the real reason why she got offended, not even the STD question itself but the way he approach it. I believe that anybody, regardless of what country they came from would be offended by it.

If she was using him for money, she wouldn’t have ended the relationship. Just saying.

Why are there so many people looking down and underestimating Filipina women? I dated women in different ethnicity but nothing really beats Filipina woman that made me go through a lot just to bring one here in New Zealand because my mother was a good proof of how great they are and so as my other Filipina relatives. They can cook amazing food, look after or care for you, great mothers, and most importantly they are not very demanding and it only takes a tickle to make them happy. Rose wasn't trying to rip him off if she wanted to have kids with him. she was happy and content living in poverty and she just wanted to have good future for her son and ed. She was geniune and Ed was see her as a doll. I'm glad she ended it.

A lot of Westerners don't seem to understand that a lot of Eastern families take care of each other FOREVER. They stay close and help each other because that's their culture. Did Rose's son look emaciated to you? Did he look like he was starving, dying, miserable? These families _can_ afford to have kids, they just want MORE for them, as any parent does. You can tell Rose is a good mother to her son, because everytime they were together he was happy and didn't want her to leave.

Yeah, nursing homes aren't really a thing here in the PH. We also don't get kicked out at 18 and even if we get stable jobs with enough compensation to get a life of our own, we often choose to still live with our parents when we have our own families already. Do not belittle people living in poverty because they are taught to survive at an early age and they can and will do any hard work (some even get 3 jobs at once) in order to provide for their families.

While it isn't a 40 y/o dude living in their mom's basement type of situation, most people prefer to have their families as close as possible.

What they don't understand is that here in the Philippines its almost impossible to have upward social mobility when you are born in the lower economic classes, especially if you are a single mother. We don't have government aid like in other countries. You can only rely on yourself and your family. Rose took the risk in hope for a better life. She actually tried to get to know Ed but in the end her dignity was more important than that a disgusting narcissistic man.

Honestly I'm very distraught by people's negative opinion of Rose. As a Filipino who's family has been on the rock bottom at the start, here's what I have to say It is DEFINITELY not easy for Rose to just "save up" money for her and her son to escape Philippines. It tremendously costs a lot to process for necessary documents and appointments. And once she gets there with her son, what's in store for them in USA? Absolutely nothing. She needs to find a home for herself and her child, she needs to find a reliable job which is pretty difficult knowing she doesn't have enough credentials to get one. Why not just save it all up? There are daily needs and costs like food, water and other necessary expenses. To top it all off, her family has no reliable way earning enough money to even save enough. It would even take around 3-4 generations of their family to even save up for that plan that is if their following gens could even keep up with the constant income. Poverty line in the Philippines is hard and painful to crawl out of and only handful of them make it out. I'm honestly blessed and honored my family made it out the reason why we dearly sympathize for Rose. Hope other people has an open mind of what it is actually like to be in poverty.

Couldn't have said out better my self like, what happens when someone gets sick? Use the findings. Need food? Goodbye fundings. Something gets broken? Welp there goes the money. There are struggles every day and things happen. I like to think about it like that scene in Up were Carl and Ellie try to save up and can't because of everyday things. (Btw sorry if you're offended by that comparison). But things happen and money goes because you need it and it being that expensive to leave and no guarantee that life will be better in the USA some might think what's the point? I hope everyone in the Philippines and in the whole world can have a happy life and poverty will one day end but until then why don't we help and donate? Just a thought. As someone who went through this in 2009.. it’s it’s very difficult to say the least and especially in my case where my family were moving into the United States and neither of us previously held the citizenship. For Rose it would’ve been a little bit easier because she would be in a relationship with somebody who is a citizen and that somebody would be backing her financially throughout the process. But it is incorrect for Ed to state that this process is done with the snap of a finger.

my grandmother is still trying to get my uncle whose the only immediate member of our family who isn't in America. She left them when my father was six to send money back home in a country she wasn't familiar with. he's in his fifties, with a family of his own but it still breaks my heart that we can't all be together.

In Philippines food is the main thing, it's okay for some family to sleep in an uncomfortable bed rather than sleeping in a comfty bed while starving, people work hard and work several jobs but still don't get much of it.
