Hi Bruna excellent reaction ! Rosalia reaches your soul, is the most emotional and angelic voice I've heard in my life; Gentle that caresses your soul or it can be powerful and shake it Uuuf Rosalía is of an another planet !! . Lyrics are by San Juan De la Cruz, a 16th Century mystic who was imprisoned for trying to reform an order of the church when he wrote this. In "Even though it is by night" , the song is about reaching out for that eternal fountain of light when one's soul is in darkness. It is clearly about finding God or godliness in everything, but religious connotations aside, it has such beautiful poetic lyrics with very vivid imagery. It's a track in her Los Angeles album. Toward the end of the video she is seen walking through the front gates of the local public cemetery of Sant Esteve Sesrovires, her home town. Greetings beautiful girl !!

A correction here: "Aunque es de noche" isn't a track of "Los Angeles". It's a single that doesn't belong to any album, it's published between both Rosalia's albums. It's a cover of a song by Enrique Morente, which lyrics are based in that poem by San Juan de la Cruz.

Just to add, the original song is from Enrique Morente, a great flamenco artist from Granada, and was first sang in 1983

One of the most mistique poems written by San Juan de la Cruz, perfectly interpreted by Rosalia.
This poem is from 16th century. Written by the great San Juan de la Cruz

The lyrics come from a poem from the XVI Century. The fountain is God, obviously. San Juan de la Cruz was a mystic and he belongs to a tradition that's called "negative theology" , which is "negative" because it worships a God that you can't see, a hidden God that you know is there "though is night". "Negative Theology" stresses that God is a Mystery and we know nothing. This explains the religious setting in the car at the beginning of the video, as well as the word "Redentor" in the last part and the crosses all over the place.

Also the poem was written when he was in jail, so it was actually a dark moment for him.

Some of the translation actually takes away the poetry of the lyrics...
