When Rory first appeared on Doctor Who, I never thought I would come to love him as much as I have. His compassion, his courage, his selfless devotion to Amy. Every quality you touched on beautifully in your video. They are why Rory is one of my all-time favorites in the DW universe.

Same here. I thought he was annoying and somewhat of a coward as well. Buuut, he was a nurse, just as I am, so _that_ was a plus. And then he delivered the biggest character development of all companions _ever._ From someone afraid even of the mere thought of the shadow of an alien, who is most distrustful and wary toward the Doctor, to a 2.000 year old centurion who occasionally strolls into a Cybermen stronghold and ripps them a new one and turns human again later out of love. He gets killed and even _erased from history_ time and again and just comes back, out of sheer love and stubbornness. And while the Doctor sees him pretty much in the same light I did at first, he later values him as a quite smart, strong and special companion who surprises and sometimes even baffles him.

Rory is one of the best companions from DW. He is the most relatable to us viewers

Honestly when I first saw rory I thought "Oh no here is another mickey and rose all over" but he proved me and everyone else wrong. He stood his ground and fought for what he loved. He became one of the few to not just accept the answer because the doctor said so, instead he stood up and asked why or even said no. I never really thought about it but seeing this video made me realize how many times rory has died. Yet despite that he kept coming back. Even when he should have been erased from history never existing he still found a way to come back to Amy. He transformed from a lovable goof to a man who could stare down daleks and cybermen without flinching and demand they tell him where his wife was. WHAT. A. LEGEND.

Yes!!! I also love how his questioning and criticism of the Doctor didn't mean he disliked him or didn't have trust for him. Rory is such a great character, and I lived having a companion that finally and often confronted the Doctor.

I loved that when they were trapped in the hotel full of everyone's greatest fear, the only thing the hotel could do to Rory was show him the exit because it couldn't make him afraid.

Yes! Same! The God Complex is such an underrated episode for many reasons but this is one. Rory is an amazing character

I love Rory, he plays the straight man really well and he’s not afraid to take the Doctor to task for getting too self-important

"The man who dies and dies and dies again" It's always been great sharing the same first name as Rory but my middle is also William.

Rory was one of the only companions that really pulled the doctor up on some of the bullshit he would spout sometimes. Really challange the doctors character and I love it

Oh, you made me cry. Rory makes me cry. Amy and Rory make me cry, I love them so much. What Amy says about Rory being the most beautiful man she's ever seen. It's kind of like this for me, and a lot of people too. At first you don't really notice him, swept in Amy's fierceness and Eleventh's... everything. But then he starts being more and more noticeable until you realize that he's just amazing.

When they ask: how often do you think about the roman empire? Yes

Rory's story arc was one my very favorites from Doctor Who, such growth, not to mention the wonderful love story with Amy Pond. Thanks for capturing this so well, as you usually do. Do take care my dear.

When I first saw Rory I thought he was just going to be rarely shown side character, I never suspected how much he'd grow and how impactful he'd become. Then again I noticed that a lot with the doctor's companions, they start out as just a tag-a-long but over time they get to show how fantastic they are, they've almost all had moments where they're the hero of the day, where they changed the world or universe for the better, where they truly shined and even showed up the doctor sometimes. It's what I used to love about Doctor Who it was inspiring and showing the potential of human beings. I haven't really gotten much of that from the latest seasons, though I stopped watching after the rosa parks episode when I felt like I was revisiting a lesson in history class from over 2 decades ago that I already learned. The sci-fi element felt shoe-horned in lazily like it was an afterthought instead of the central plot of the episode and was pretty lame since the badguy was literally incapable of using direct violence. I just couldn't find anymore motivation to watch after that.

I started watching the Doctor this year and started with the Eleventh for a few, His love to Amy is so good it hurts.

Rory was the same as Danny. They both finally showed who exactly the doctor can be

My life was in utter turmoil when these episodes came out so I didn't see all the Pond episodes. I didn't realise how essential Rory was to their story. Now I'm halfway through watching each one in order. Rory shines like beacon. The interplay between the three of them is incredible. Thanks for encapsulating it for us.

The one crossover that I'd love to see is The Doctor's family all together: Rory/Amy/River and the Noble Clan...the two combustible redheads, their unflappable husbands, the otherworldly daughters, and the assorted mix of parental units.

Why was Rory taking the picture of the man with the dog?

When I first saw Rory, I thought to myself, "Amy, you can do so much better for yourself". Then they started to flesh Rory out and at the end, I thought, "Amy, you better hold onto him because he can find somebody so much better." They were almost a complete rip-off of Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable.
