@ScottishTeeVee Great news. Can't believe I missed Rory Gallagher when getting into Hendrix and Zeppelin etc when growing up. He's easily as good as Hendrix.

The picture of him by the castle omg looking sweet!!!!!
Thanks for this - there’s nobody like Rory, gritty honest deep un-fabricated genuine blues rocker - when he plays and sings it’s REAL. A fabulous upload 🇮🇪
Enjoying my morning coffee with this post. Not the worst way to start your day. 🙂
If the blues were an ocean, distilled to a drop, it would be RORY! None better!
The Best ever
If ever there was a venue that suited Rory to a tee, it was the legendary Marquee. It was my go to venue of choice between 1968 to 1979 and I honestly can't remember how many times I saw Taste & The Rory Gallagher Band play there - Great memories of a wonderful era in live music! Cheers that man!! 👍

I can't imagine having a venue like that available. I saw Rory only once in about 1974 or 75 in an auditorium concert. I was about 21 years old. Fantastic.

Thank you so much for this incredible glimpse at this maestro , I saw him for the 1st time around a year later at the Rainbow in London , brilliant. Eventually got to see him at the legendary Marquee in '83 which was rockin' . He always delivered 🎸🎸🎸🎸
As a youngster in 1992 I was obsessed with the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Rory would have been the next logical leap. Never got to hear him. Glad at 46 to get a glimpse of this talent. Thank you

Ah the old Marquee club. What a great venue that was. Thank you for this
Always loved Rory and this is wonderful. Thank you! ❤️
Well they sent you to heaven, they called you back again, but the songs won't ever fade. And even so you may never know just how high you set the grade. No more city skylines. No more shows to do. No more smiling faces dancing like a wave in front of you, I'll see you each day I play this song..They sent you to heaven I bet you fought to stay, but all good souls need peace sometime..RG..rip

HOLY CRAP! How have I not heard this before ? Thank you! A million times thank you!
This gig is one of several recorded that eventually became the 'Live In Europe' LP. These tracks didn't make the album. Having video is insane, thanks so much for posting.

Absolutely stunning post. This was in '' Live in Europe '' tour and one of my all time favorites albuns on that days.Great memories.Thank you so much for this.God bless you.
wow-saw him at Preston in April 1972 on (presumably) this tour-I was 15 and it was the first proper guitar hero rock concert I attended.I had been playing for about 18 months and a mate said we should go and see him.I remember the venue was only about half full and we were close to the stage.Completely blew me away-"In my town" was just blazing and seemed to go on forever. He gave me a guitar string at the end-kept it for decades but somehow lost it.Brilliant memories-still gets a regular spot on my playlists.
Thank you love this 😊

The master at work! Thank you for this! ❤
Excellent! Always fun to see Rory and Gerry together. And yet another great version of Bullfrog Blues at the end. Thank you for posting this! 👏👏🙂
Thank you 🤘🏻
What a talent. Rory literally lived his music like a nomadic blues monk. Totally dedicated to his craft, even turning down playing with the Rolling Stones. His lack of fame compared to his talent may seem tragic, but ultimately what he wanted … to remain true to the blues and free to express it his own way.

To Steve Sings Things When did the Rolling Stones ask him to join? When Brian Jones died, and they got Mick Taylor? It would have been amazing anyway if he had simply done a concert with them - I'd love to have heard Rory and Keith play together

WHERE in London is this?
Early in his post-Taste career, but so mature. Maximum emotion in every note whether conventional fingering or slide, and his singing and harmonica playing were in perfect synch with his guitar. Genius.
Thank you for uploading 🎸🎸❤️❤️ love Rory’s music
Fantastic! Thanks for adding❤️
Pure Class! Enough said ❤ 🇬🇧 🎸
Uau.... Meu queixo sempre cai quando ouço Rory. Arrasador!

The year I met Rory and I believe the world does too. Year of the Live In Europe album, to this day my favorite and which I keep in perfect condition.
Thanks for sharing. An artist at one with his guitar.
Like many musicians who PLAY and SING at the same time, Rory's singing often wasn't as good live, as on a record. I'd assumed that was because it was a bit much to concentrate on BOTH singing, AND playing , at the same time. HOWEVER, here his singing really is spot on! So I imagine, that in some venues artistes can't HEAR as clearly what they are singing AND playing. Here it's perfect!
Irish Hero🍀💪
the real clapton
sounds like mccartney, plays like hendrix, not bad
