I’ve always enjoyed the Uniden Washington Base station. My wife bought me one back in 2021. It was used, but the person the wife bought it from, said all it did was sit and never was used. She got it for me as a gift, and a buddy of mine that works and cleans radios, he said the base station was completely stock and no screwdriver was took to it. Unhacked basically. When a radio is completely stock and no mods are done to it, that’s the type of radios I enjoy. I’ve had the Uniden Washington for the last 3 years. I’m not in a place where I could use it so I ended up selling. The person who has it now, is getting great use and I’m happy that’s it’s being used

I am somewhat new to radios after years of my Dad working on me to get into radios, he knows I enjoy electrics and tinkering. So he finally got me and I must say he was right. I absolutely love my Styker 655 and my fatboy 4 pill that I picked up from you not long ago. I makes my dad to talk to my dad and uncle. Thanks Rooster your guidance has definitely put me where I want to be.

I am old school and still prefer the older equipment, such as sweep tube amps and tube type radios. However, I doo keep up with the times and have upgraded some to newer export radios for their higher power outputs. I am currently running a RCI 2995 DX for my go-to base, but I also switch from time to time mobile exports ie. RCI 2970N4 or Stryker SR995HP. But my all time radio was my Cobra 2000GTL which I installed a channel expander kit in it to get more upper and lower channels. This was in the ‘80s and of course it had a great receive and output was because I had Avanti Moonraker 4 up @ 110’ , so it was easy to make long distance contacts without skip conditions. I enjoy watching Rooster’s video and even though I’ve been on the air since 1970, I am still willing to learn new things, and Rooster is a good teacher. 😊

Mr. Rooster sir, I am a CB'er from the early 90's we used them to connect with friends on the way to school each morning. I had a Uniden PC76XL with some golden screwdriver action and the thing would swing 30watts! Fast forward to today, and I ended up in an off road club, and it caused me to get back into radio. Most of the clubs use GMRS, but I wanted a CB back in my truck as well. I found your videos on the interweb and purchased a nice little ALL THE WAY Galaxy DX66V3 from you and a Carl Built 400HD. Never had an amp back in the 90s. Excited to try that out. I do a lot of road trips......hard to believe how quiet channel 19 is these days on the freeway...

My favorite piece of equipment is the first tube amp I bought recently a Palomar 200. I've mostly stuck with solid state because I didn't know anything about tube amps. I still really don't know much about them but did some research on tuning it and got it working great. I was absolutely thrilled and filled with such a sense of accomplishment when I got it tuned and people bragging about how great I sounded on air. I've received the absolute best compliments and it's been a blast using.

Excellent videos! My favorite radio is a Browning Golden Eagle Mark 3 that I restored for my uncle who was a 11meter operator since the 1950's and he sold his Mark 3 when he retired and they started traveling. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with lung cancer and died before I could give it to him. I still have it and everyone loves the "ping" when I fire it up!! Most think its a radio issue but some old timers know exactly what it is!! Good times on the radios!!

Congratulations! I was a big CB guy back in the 70s. Would love to get back into CB again. I had a Browning Golden Eagle Mark 3 with a 1000 watt amp with a Moonraker 4 60 foot up in the air.

@@Rooster_Radio good to know question for you I live in a one bedroom apartment don’t know if I can put up a outside antenna. Are there any inside antennas for CB that are any good?

My current radio I like and have been using the most is my anytone 5555 plus. Can't afford much more. Like I said having a hobby on set income sucks! I see 112 have said something so I'm probably too late anyway. Maybe next time! Keep doing what you do its awesome much appreciated info that's actually helped this old boy a ton! 73s from 533 Washington state!
