I'll give Geri the pen not working thing. To the point that now as a middle aged adult with enough sense to spend money on what is a cheap item to buy, I actually make sure to ALWAYS have a pack of 50 biros sitting in a drawer so I absolutely know that I have a working pen to hand at all times.

Geri seems like a lovely person who is a little out of her depth here. Let’s not forget she’s a singer not a comedian. Katherine uses a lot of her act in talk shows which can get a bit repetitive sometimes.

Katherine Ryan was great here

Phone calls are an ambush, awesome comment

Katherine was funniest overall, but a bit rehearsed. Adam was naturally the funniest. Geri doesn't seem as comfortable in this kind of environment anymore (and isn't funny anyway), intent instead on nurturing her image as one of the country jet set.

As an introvert I absolutely agree with Katherine. I hate talking on the phone and would much rather text and thankfully there's not much need for phone calls anymore because we can email and text people. I even schedule my medical and salon appointments through text and email now. It's just so much more convenient and nice.

I, on the other hand, really rely on people's facial expression and hate it when I have to decipher their text. Especially if it's a touchy subject, like; 'Hey, do you mind if I arrive 15 minutes later, there's still plantpots that I need to take down, before it starts storming." You can get back; Sure. (annoyed?) Sure... (definitely annoyed) Sure! (probably not annoyed.) Sure (in a rush? Probably not annoyed.) Et cetera. Whereas if I just press the phone, put it on my shoulder, cramp up my neck in order to hold it and then walk through the room and starts speaking as if they are there; 'Heyhey, just wondering, would you mind?' they go; 'Oooohh ehm, well, no, I don't think so, good of you to let me know, I have to put those down as well, was the storm a big bother to you? Oh I forgot to ask, how is the dog doing?' And then you go; 'She's alright, but she doesn't like storms. There is a funny video though, I'll show it to you in a minute, I- oh..I have to hang, sorry, well, see you within an hour! Byebye!' There's a lot more nuance, you can hear if they are annoyed or not. Interpreting XD or X'D or XP is a lot different from hearing if there is a malicious laugh on the other side or a friendly one. And they can immediately hear your response and say; 'Oh sorry, I didn't mean to laugh about that', if you didn't like them laughing.

The last thinkg you need is katherine being a grumpy bastard because you had the 'temerity' to call

I actually feel quite awkward and embarrassed watching Geri....she just doesn't get it

I live in a posh village with half a dozen different actual shops that sell alcohol. (not counting the further half dozen licensed pubs/eateries) Yes really, an actual village with that many shops that sell beer over the counter. Welcome to Brexit Britain! And God Bless it! And trust me when I say this, I do the rounds of these shops, and buy my beer supplies from different shops on differing days/weeks/months whatever. And NOT ONE person in these shops or indeed customers of said shops, would dare comment to me "bit early isn't it.." as Adam joked about at 9:40 The village petrol garage come small supermarket is the earliest opening shop we have here. It opens at 5am. And I regularly visit said establishment at that time for a beer run if I've just spent a night on the old PC for a video game marathon.

You do know that we weren't living under rules of prohibition with the streets being controlled by moonshine producing mafia men with sharp suits and tommy guns before Brexit, right? People in this country have been able to walk into a shop and buy a case of beers long before Brexit. But I wouldn't expect a gammon who can't even tell when somebody's being sarcastic on a comedy show of all places, to have that level of awareness.

As a person who just watched this for the first time, I've managed to grasp the point of the show. Geri however, seems to miss it completely and is a complete snooze fest. Judas priest lady, do us all a favour and turn down the invitation the next time to be on the show.

In my experience the opening "phone calls" was not funny because it is the truth. Comedy needs to exagerate the truth to be funny.
