I love when someone in a car is a full car length passed that white line they're supposed to stop at. Then I make my left turn and look down at them as they shit themselves before I stop in the middle of the intersection to give them time to move out of the way.

Swampicide PA streets are not fun in a car, much less a truck. Had to pickup a load of baby food there once, and the roads suck, the docking area was a big joke made for old pup trailers not 53ft, never so glad to get the hell out of there....

Nice driving! My belief is that it should be illegal for full size trucks to navigate roads like that. I think we should drop it somewhere outside the city limits and a day cab can take it home, but that’ll never happen bc the puppet masters aren’t the ones on the string.

That would significantly raise the price of freight. Cost prohibited. Plus, you have a number of “Desk Jockies” who have zero experience in driving a truck who will say, “Well, all the other drivers did it...” like a desk Jockie has any clue how difficult to drive and back up a truck.

Rookie? There's nothing more exhilarating than negotiating an unknown town at 5 pm. I learned an expensive lesson or two. You learn to use your mirrors and steer the trailer not the tractor real quick

I grew up about 5 miles from there...moved 30 miles south, but went thru there on 837 every day, to work...Clairton still has a USSteel Plant(on his left)...Coke works...lot of drugs travel from East coast thru there, and surrounding communities...

It's best that you still do since technology isn't always reliable, no matter how much it is deemed to be. It still doesn't and shouldn't replace paper maps. Some drivers use the motor carrier atlas it's updated every year and make sure to get the laminated one. Personally, I like being able to write on the map and erase it afterwards. I have planned routes now so I don't use it as much as I used to. Planning is everything -a time management skill needed in this job indeed.

Fr8roftheNight when I ran otr I wrote down everything and when I got to a city I used my cb to ask what traffic was like around the loops. If I ever go back out I’d still write everything down. You can’t replace the old notebook.
