Rookie Lindsey Hunter Drops 29 on the Bulls

Спорт

January 4, 1994 - The Detroit Pistons drafted their backcourt of the future with back-to-back picks in 1993, picking up Lindsey Hunter and Allan Houston with the 10th and 11th selections, respectively, in the 1993 NBA Draft. Hunter, at the time, was coming off a bucket-filling barrage at Jackson St., averaging 26.7 points per game his senior year and working his way into the NBA's draft lottery in the process.
The Pistons, meanwhile, were searching for a successor to an aging Isiah Thomas and Hunter, who wore his No. 11 at Jackson St. in Thomas' honor, seemed like the ideal pick.
As such, Hunter began his NBA career as a 6-foot-2 hired gun, zipping around the court like a younger Zeke while attacking the rim with the aggression of an athletic 6'7'' wing.
Against the Bulls, Hunter set a rookie season high, scoring 29 points on 12-24 shooting and 4-7 from deep in a 97-91 loss.
Hunter played the first seven seasons of his NBA career in Detroit, peaking as a 14.2 points per game scorer in 1997. After a three season NBA walkabout, Hunter returned to Detroit in 2003-04 as a defensive bulldog, spearheading the Pistons' second unit en route to winning the 2004 NBA championship.
