    There's been so many times I've spotted damage (even pieces of broken stuff on the ground) walking right up ro the door as soon as they say that, I just point it out and go feom there. Some people REALLY think because it's not raining on the inside that "their roof is fine"... Until you talk to them.

    Adam, what if you extrapolate all this to the home owner, and the claim still gets denied. When there is clearly damage and missing shingles. Homeowners think contractors are thieves, but little do they know, they're getting ROBBED by insurance.

    Here's a question, if I keep getting multiple "no's" to the inspection. How long do I keep trying before I call it a day? I'll explain and provide insight and value and people will still manage to say no, regardless of what I try. But some people will be easier to deal with. How realistic is it to help everyone that opens?

    Great question. I just did a short response video to this that you'll see on social media coming soon. In a nutshell, in sales we hear NO far more than YES. In fact, you may have your best sales day EVER followed by a goose egg (0). Our mission is to stay persistent and work the multi-touch marketing system. I'd suggest watching this video to help you turn NOs into YESs ;) kzread.info/dash/bejne/g5aB3MR_k5W4dKQ.html

    Hey Luke, Thanks for the comment. Have you watched this video yet? kzread.info/dash/bejne/o5uAt7dphJyomJM.html (Sounds like you may have). Start there if not. If you have, remember this --- not everyone is our customer. We can do our very best to... 1) Explain that all local companies will be over run with work and too busy to get to everyone 2) That your company serves the entire state (or US) -- this is all positioning. 3) Use analogies about ordering online But if they simply are stuck in their mind about going "local," spend your energy elsewhere. Also, it's important to note that they MEAN when they say they want to go local. It's because they don't TRUST you. They are concerned they won't be taken care of with the same level of attention since you may be "in and out" -- and they want to make sure they have someone to call for any warranty stuff that may arise. Speak to these core issues and it will help a TON!

    @@TheRoofStrategist Let me guess, it is going to be something like - Acknowledge that their roof may be fine but then Reassure that wouldn't it be nice to have the piece of mind that two different people have confirmed the condition of the roof. How do they know insurance will cover it? Do they have a crystal magic ball letting them know that their roof will be damaged and the insurance will cover it - guaranteed? There are VERY few areas in the US that someone could make that claim.

  • @TheRoofStrategist

    @TheRoofStrategist

    3 жыл бұрын

    Great question. Typically YES. The insurance will ask for the date of loss (when the storm was). Use the most recent one and be sure to file it for "storm damage" and NOT specifically hail or wind. Every now and again an insurance company may try to stick you with 2 deductibles for different type of losses.

    I’m just starting out and I’m always looking for older roofs that I think would have a greater chance for damage, I’m a very personable person and love talking to people in general but can’t be phony or salesy. I was on a roof the other day and the lady had extensive damage and I could see clean spots on the neighbors roof from hail. I thought this would be an easy sale and he wasn’t hearing it and said I don’t have the money anyway. It totally got in my head and made me feel defeated, I’m not a salesman in any way but I need to learn some things that will help

    I don't agree with all of this. I recognize that people will act emotionally and then think analytically later, but it's not one size fits all, or a rule of thumb, scientific fact... It is the fact that when people are in social situations, it takes a certain amount of brain power just to be social, so everything being said right now, doesn't necessarily sink in until later when the person recounts what was said and the events that took place. You call it being analytical but, really it's simply easier to think about anything when you are not locked into a social situation and a conversation. It's actually very difficult to absorb information instantly when you are not familiar with everything being discussed. The reason the person thinks about the deal and what was said to reassure themself later is usually due to not understanding everything completely and being paranoid about making a mistake or looking for flaws. The way your speaking is actually difficult to absorb even in this video because the pace is really fast, going over different points and topics. I just imagine customers being bewildered and then playing it off like they know what your saying during your pitch and explanations. Great video and advice never the less. Thanks.

    Hey Dick, I appreciate the comment and the fact you took the time to articulate a well thought out reply. Disagreements are welcome :) It's sales -- it's life -- there is never a 1-size-fits-all approach. In my videos I share what's worked for me over the last 11 years, and that has helped the thousands of reps I've coached. That being said, my style and my approach isn't for everyone. On the flip side -- we can all learn things from teachings/philosophies, even if we don't fully agree with them. It will either validate what you're doing, open up a new perspective, or spark a new epiphany of sorts. I hope you are able to take what works for you. As I've said before, test all of this for yourself. Grab what you like and works for you and above all else -- test things for yourself.

    @@TheRoofStrategist I can tell that you are very inteligent and specialized in your field. You are part sales coach and part motivational speaker. I could never come close to your approach and energy. I have different philisophical perspectives and personality. I like the tips and tricks, but I don't like brain washing affermations invented by people to manipulate people. I feel like it's a form of subjugation that reminds me of overzealous religious people. My boss tries to get me to ignore what people are saying and just respond with the next part of the pitch as if they're supposed to allow me to dominate the conversation and walk them through the process without acknowledging their objections, questions, and ability to contemplate the situation specifically and directly...It's like: just get real, this is why people don't like sales people... The thing is... it actually works... A product will always sell itself to someone who is looking for it and then some people will actually just lay down and go along with it... LMAO Many sales men are just trying to perform a service for people, who need it, so people shouldn't hate on it so much. It's the competitive aspect and taking the path of least resistance that drives companies to go the psychologically manipulative route rather then a get to know you, build trust, a reputation, and always make sure they're taken care of approach...
