A few things not mentioned. I like to visually scan the wires looking for burnt insulation. Also I will inspect the refrigerant tubing to see if I can see oily deposits indicating a refrigerant leak. Its also nice to put a vacuum hose in the drain pan & on the condensate line to clear out crude & other debris that may build up in the line.
