True rock royalty here. Bruce Rowland, Henry Campbell Liken McCullough, Chrissy Stewart, Ian Stewart and Lane himself, plus the keeper of the Slim Chance flame Charlie Hart (along with Steve Simpson)....simple, enjoyable music. Long live you all in the ether !

Can hear how these influenced the clash, London calling record. Has that same vibe to many of the the tunes. Love Ronnie's band. Love the small face's an the faces. Real music

Ronnie was such a down to earth kind of guy with a twinkle in is eye, everyone loved him fans and fellow musicians, was very sad the way it went for him but he bore it with a smile, truly miss you Ronnie and wish I’d met you in life cos you were my kind of person.

Just played DEBRIS 3 times...get the CHILLS each time ! miss you man.

Rough Mix one of the greatest records of all time. Ronnie was a genius.

That is what I call 'honest music'. It is straight from the heart.

Ronnie Lane wasn’t messing around he was the Real Deal and this Band was Great, What a great mix, I don’t think Ian Stewart would have got up for just anyone, but I’m sure he Loved what Ronnie was doing, the music is what it’s all about and when I listen to this it’s got so many Influences going on, It’s got that old school London thing going on but also a New Orleans thing as well in places just Great Stuff.. This Music Like Ronnie is sorely missed ❤️❤️❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌞🌞🌞

Rockpile comes to mind as well.

A fabulous concert. Soulful and melancholy in places, rocking out elsewhere. A real band with a feel for a song and where to take it.

Ronnie lane was such a great musician and a lovely friendly man it's so sad he had Ms which sadly he died of rip Ronnie xx💔

Played bass because every other budding musician wanted to play lead or rhythm guitar.

Saw this great lineup at the Music Machine (Camden Town, London) in 1980, standing by the side of the stage about 3 metres from Ronnie and Henry. Delighted to find this on KZread and relive a truly great gig!

Yes, the first song is Catmelody from Rough Mix with Townshend. Only got to see Ronnie in concert once. RIP Ronnie. One of the greats.

Ronnie Lane died of M.S. and was loved and missed by the group!! They broke up in five years but left a treasure trove of music and videos!! There all from England where I feel all good rock,and roll singers come from!! Listen to Ronnie Lanes “Debri” or “Oh LaLa” which he wrote before passing away!! Great spirit!! Slim Chance reformed and are still playing with most of the originals, saw them last night (Oct 2019). Brilliant. Charlie seems to be the main man now.

I think I recall Maclagan said in his book (“All the Rage” - brilliant, get a copy!) that by this point, Ronnie’s guitar wasn’t always plugged in.

Also Chrissie Stewart, the bass player, is RIP. That's most of the band. Luckily we have this video to see how great they were live!

Love Ronnie, but not sure this band has the soul of Slim Chance. Seems a bit thrown together and crowded in the mix. Slim Chance just had that feel, cant really describe it, but utterly perfect...

IndependentGeorge76 It sounds like Stu on piano sets the tone here. I have read that he refused to play anything that was too far removed from the boogie-woogie style he loved. Certainly seems to be the case here. Still great for all that.

Boy,you couldn't try to get a more inappropriate drummer for Ronnie,no backbeat,no foot,way too light jazz feel....Just falls flat without a rock solid drummer.....

Thumbs down. Sounds like Bob Dylan after a gallon of Tequila - or bathtub gin. Too drunken sounding. Ronnie Lane could be much better though. I guess the promoters were trying to keep the poor guy going.
