    Im feeling this is the year Ronnie should have called it quits after winning the O. He was in his 40s, he had 8 wins, and the drive for 2006 and 2007 did nothing but destroy his back/hip/nerve issue beyond repairing.. oh well, shoulda woulda coulda, hard to still the fire in a man like big ron. God bless.

    No. Going for #9 in 06 is what anybody would’ve done. He should’ve retired after that year though. He was never going to beat Jay with a torn lat.

  • @niggasjit

    @niggasjit

    @@doublem1975x lol a torn lat. Ronnie had much bigger problems from 05 and beyond than a torn lat! His whole left side upper body was severly atrophied leading up to 06, especially noticeable in his left arm, due to the spinal nerve damage. If you dont know Ronnie is in a wheelchair now and he aint getting out of it. He had severe hip dysplasia, fused spinal discs, compressed/damaged nerves, severe osteoarthritis and on and on. Thats more than a "torn lat". He shoulda left 8 for 8 and enjoyed his life, look at how Jay Cutler lives currently. Dude is messing around like he is 18.

    @@niggasjit I don’t agree with that his problems started in 05. 05 Olympia was one of Coleman’s most dominant showings. The torn lat is the main reason he lost in 06. That injury completely ruined his physique. He was lucky to place 2nd. With a heathy back it would’ve been enough to beat Jay 3/4 in symmetry round and take majority of the mandatory poses. Yes he did have muscle imbalances in 06 but it was purposefully disguised by him coming in to the show super big and filled out. Personally, I believe the real cause of the damage he’s suffering with now is all the guest posing he did for years after retiring. He was still big as a house and training super hard until like 2011. Had he called it quits after 06 and stopped training so hard he’d at least be able to walk unassisted now.

    Sets of 35 reps AFTER squatting and leg pressing... This is another level of hardcore training. Blessings to Ron now and always. Thank you for always bringing 100 percent and motivating all who are fortunate enough to view such a raw training style. This goes to show that form and slower concentrated reps are a subjective preference. What works for one may not work for another. Ultimately consistency and intensity, like Ron displays here is 🔑 to success in any and all endeavours. Peace and blessings to all reading this.

    Knowing what we know now about his back problems, you can always see the pain on his face after a set, but he NEVER once complained. I always wondered why he tightened the belt as tight as humanly possible.. probably trying to get some sort of relief. Ir sucks he can’t walk now, but I love his positive attitude and contribution to bodybuilding. Ronnie is the goat

    I work out pretty hard, and I've been coached to do real bodybuilding workouts a few times. Frankly it hurts like hell. I've experienced a taste of what it takes to become a serious bodybuilder....and so I'm not ever going to be a serious bodybuilder. Not on THAT level. I can appreciate the pain that it takes to make that kind of gain and it's just way beyond what I'm willing to tolerate. It gives me MORE respect for these guys that have decided to take it in order to make the gains. I just don't want to win that much.

    He was doing mostly partial reps. Yet today,the current evidence suggests that partials at the lengthened part of the movement produces as much growth as the full range of motion. That doesn't mean its automatically better or healthier to train only with partials. Most guys doing partials,are using extremely heavy weight which can't controll.
