Nice work Ted. i really have to chuckle in that this is practically the same exact machine that I have except mine was sold by Harbor Freight under their Central Machinery brand. Grizzly also sells this same exact machine in their color and brand name. I remember the Rong Fu brand back in the 90's but haven't seen it since. Something my machine has that I've never seen anywhere else is that it has a quill feed which is great when boring a hole with a boeing head.

Thanks for your comments. They are the same as far as I know, just depends on when & what companies purchased the mills, & what the later models & accessories came with. Votages etc depended on the countries that purchased them . Some also came out with resersable motors.

Thanks for commenting. Did you have excess Micro Qill wheel backlash Also did you come across a correct size Klingon Batlef as used by Worf ?

It's time to extended the slot in the casting and you will get more Y travel.

Thanks for your suggestion. I am getting full travel right up to the round column, unless your talking towards the front ?

@@TedRoza- yes towards the front, I gained 2 full inches. And that's with mounting DRO and cut off switch for the power feed. And then I extended the Y handle thru the chip tray.

Hey Ted I’ve just done the same to my machine and as I was putting it back together I realised I couldn’t remember which way the Y axis leadscrew nut faced. I thought to myself oh it should face the column so that you can get to the adjusting screw, but when I checked the manual it said it should face the other way. Any thoughts?

G'day Leon, Thanks for your comments. The adjustment nut on the Y axis should generally face to the rear column because when you move the Y towards the front, you are able to adjust the slack in the nut. +++ That’s how mine was from Brand New

@@TedRoza yeah I thought the same. It’s the rong fu manual that shows it facing the front of the mill. Strange but I agree with you.

@@freestyla101 If you tried to go from the front, you would find the vice etc would be in the way, + there isn't an access hole from the front as is from the rear section
