Yes this was another big issue. I was there in the crowd for Survivor Series and fans were pissed WWE was letting RAW sweep SD. It started with Nia squashing Asuka and continued with McIntyre defeating Joe in like a minute

I'm not sure where this hard on you personally have against Rhonda comes from (maybe she shot your dog), but prior to Survivor series, she was primarily embraced by the fans. That is just reality. The turn was pretty recent. It's becky's time. The fans embraced her organically. Plus the Smackdown shutdown played a role.

Not in wrestling. And here's the thing. A lot of those wrestlers that have to go through NXT, have already done amazing things in the indys. I'm not complaining too much because NXT is the best thing WWE has to offer anyways but still, if you think about it: Daniel Bryan was considered to be the best wrestler in the world but still had to go through the horrible thing NXT was in the beginning. He was presented as a rookie when he was actually better than 95% of the WWE roster at that time. Samoa Joe, Shinzuke Nakamura, KO and El Generico, Asuka, Kairi, etc etc., all those people had a proven track record of being awesome wrestlers before coming to WWE. And still they go through developmental Now I'm not hating on Ronda at all, and I think her wrestling performances have improved tremendously in a short amount of time, and yes she has a name too big to not to use on the big stage, But still the fact is, that in a wrestling environment, she got things handed on a silver platter that other, better wrestlers have to scratch and to claw for. Still don't think that she got booed for this reason. I bet that if Charlotte had won clean, she would have been booed out of the stadium as well. To me it seems that at the moment, the general wrestling audience don't want anybody to succeed except Becky, because she is clearly the most deserving of them all (close second being Asuka). And we're all fed up with getting wrestlers forced on us for whatever reasons that we don't want to see as the title holder. See Roman Reigns for example. He didn't do wrong anything and in fact, he delivered in most of his matches, but still he wasn't the chosen one by the fans. So he got booed everytime he stepped into the ring and it got worse with every title shot he got. I sometimes miss the times when fans were more accepting of their traditional role in the wrestling environment and supported whoever was the face of the day. But on the other hand, the likes of Stone Cold or later CM Punk were so much more interesting than the Hulkster or basically any of the old heroes before Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, so you can't go back to those times. And the powers that be in WWE probably should learn that lesson soon, because with all the possibilities wrestling fans have today, their continued success isn't guaranteed

Because becky is waay more likable than ronda. That is all.

She took full whacks to the face, ear and back of the head with the kendo (enough to cut her up), her hand got trampled when Charlotte did the moonsault, she took an elbow to the cheek (which was the more obvious injury), had her legs and chest sliced, bruises all on her arms and elsewhere -- all for people's entertainment... And they boo'd the shit out of her because they didn't get Becky instead. I get why some people don't like Ronda, but leave that shit for outside of the performance. She went in there and took a serious beating, both real and fake. If you can't give her some props for doing that to entertain you, you need to look at yourself, not the person you're booing. Sad part is they'll paint her as the bad guy for being a bit upset over the chants.

There’s people like myself that respect Rhonda but don’t like how fast she’s been elevated. People like Becky, Charlotte, Sasha & Bailey are the main reason woman wrestling is what it is now. To have a newly like Rhonda to come in and beat the real Horsewomen would have really set the crowd off. Just because they where successful in the UFC, they shouldn’t be able to come in and be champs over these women who have been here building this evolution up. I was extremely happy that Charlotte didn’t eat a pin and give Rhonda a beat down. Having Raw destroy Smackdown and having Brock be unbeatable (so stupid) is really pissing off the fans who want to see some of the other talent be elevated.

Exactly back in the day late 80’s/early 90’s a wrestler worked there way up won ic title then possibly tag team then got involved in wwf title race could of took 1 or more years. But nowadays if a person comes in and get thrust into the title picture straight away ie Ronda/roman you can’t root for someone who has basically queue jumped.

xxdavecz AJ Styles earned his by his prolong run in the independent scene, TNA and NJPW. He also proved to Vince he was worthy by putting Roman over Twice with Romans best matches in the WWE. He was having a great heel run that then earned him his first WWE title run. He didn’t win in his first try after a couple months, AJ worked up too it by eating some pins first. Rhonda they handed her the title, she did nothing but win what??? Two matches before they gave her the title. Sorry but AJ earned it, Rhonda did not.

Because they put the title on Ronda when she debuted like months ago but there are women who been there for like 4 or 5 yrs and still haven’t held a title!

Isn't that the same as when Lesnar debuted in 2002, went on to win the Undisputed Championship after a few months? Did anyone hate him over & demand guys like Booker should've won it? No. In fact, fans cheered him over The Rock because they wanted him to win, just like fans cheered for Ronda when she won. Fans eventually turned on them both, just like with Brock, when Ronda returns, watch the pop she gets. The reason fans boo now is because they're fickle, they love to see someone chase after the title but when they win, they get bored of them. How many people did they call overrated or overhyped now? Alexa, Asuka, Charlotte, Ronda, Becky. Watch when Ember gets the title and holds it for a long time, they'll turn on her too. Fans are fickle af. Also, what did you think of Gail Kim's WWE debut when she won the Women's title in her debut? Did fans boo her? No, they cheered her. She beat out Jazz, Trish, Victoria, Molly, Jacqueline etc. Santino beat Umaga for the IC Title in his debut, Carlito beat Cena for the US Title in his debut, Paige beat AJ for the Women's title in her debut, in all of those matches with the exception of Carlito because he was a heel, they all were cheered. Should fans boo them because they won gold and other more established talent didn't get it yet? Why weren't they booed then?

Charlotte was "fighting for Becky" against Ronda, and right now anyone opposing Becky is the heel by default, hence, Ronda was heel. Let Ronda beat up Nia Jax soon and she'll get cheered again.

@@randomfools808 The WWE crowd didn’t like Charlotte because she was being rammed down our throats as well! She was getting the ‘special treatment’ simply because she is the daughter of Ric Flair. Which was very unfair to the rest of the female roster who worked their ass off to get success!

It shocked the hell out of me too, especially with how well she did working with one of the best in women's wrestling last night, and also with how much Charlotte has been hated by fans as recently as last Tuesday. All the possible reasons I've heard are making my eyes roll so far.

@AB a story that basically died once Becky got hurt by someone else's stupidity and now because of this crowd reaction may very well stay dead so that we'll get more of Charlotte vs Ronda instead (Charlotte, the one who is actually on the same show as Becky who has been getting booed against her this whole time by these fans for having so much spotlight over her and now will probably get more after this?). I think the fans may have screwed themselves and didn't even know it.

@AB After the fan's reaction on Sunday, i doubt this will go the way the fans want. This company is more likely to look at it as "Look at the reactions Charlotte got against her" instead of what you guys are saying is the reason. We'll see what happens but i wouldn't be surprised if Charlotte is the one who gets the benefit of what happened and not Becky.

What made me sigh out loud was the fact that WWE try to make Rousey the new SCSA or Mick Foley. After a beating, Nat Selection on a chair and that throat-shot she was able to show that she's superwoman and was able to walk out with absolutely no help. A stretcher would give her a lot more sympathy (even if we all know it was not needed) and make the beating seem more legit.

It was because of Becky, for sure. Booing Ronda was the way the crowd found to show Vince that they want Becky imo

WWE essentially miscalculated by putting Ronda up against Becky/Charlotte. Very curious to see how things shift on Raw

WWE miscalculates a lot ...... They should've made Ronda heel from the start or if they want face Ronda, make her earn her way to the title. Then fans would respect her more. I think a good way is for her to start doing suicide dives - those always get fans crazy and give wrestlers respect.

That type of wresting that the fans love the heels way before Stone Cold. The Road Warriors and Ric Flair are two wrestling legends that people love to side with because of their work in the ring, personality, and charisma.

Might also be some leftover MMA fans that issues with her personality going all the way back to her Strikeforce days. People don’t realize she was a polarizing figure in MMA, even before the Holly Holm fight. I thought she was great fighter, but her self absorbed personality made it hard to like her at times, which is why she had a hard time taking her first loss. But she did have her good and funny moments.

Once Holm knocked her out (arguments that Ronda didn't train right aside), she basically had the next fight to get back on track. Once Rousey lost again, she was done. She comes off as one of the most unlikable people you'll ever meet.

Let me tell you about Becky Lynch. She has been giving opportunity after opportunity to win the big one, yet she always was cheated out of it. Both money in the bank, the Royal Rumble and other title opportunities. She was always screwed over. When Charlotte was injected into her match at Summerslam, she didn't want that because BECKY earned that solo one on one match against the champ. Charlotte won the title and Becky snap, finally taking things into her own hands. The crowd knew her struggles, and was with her the entire time. Ronda on the other hand is a natural born fighter and won her title on quick success. Becky struggled to get her title back. So when it came down to it, the fans cheered the star who they knew overcame adversity versus one who was given the red carpet treatment since her debut. The female Brock Lesnar, so to speak.

@@Benzo503 It was a Charlotte who was endorsed by Becky. At the beginning of the match, the fans didn't care for Charlotte, until she was getting pumped up and heelish. A whole new side to Charlotte to which the fans cheered. It was very Becky- like, but hey this is just me explaining why the fans booed a face like Ronda. Hopefully this is out main event at wrestlemania and it would lead to a 4 horsewomen vs 4 horsewomen feud.

For me its never about Heels or BabyFaces its about how wrestler is characterized and how their in-ring performance reflects their character that are done well people who got interest in seeing more often. Like i will always like guys like Aj Styles and Samoa Joe how they perform.

The fact that Ronda Rousey came into WWE as a fan favorite always puzzled me. She disrespected Holly Holm, Max Kellerman and Mike Golic on ESPN not to mention multiple other interviewers. Also, it has been rumored that she will be leaving the WWE shortly so I think that's why fans were singing Na na na.

After seeing Ronda's IG today and seeing that she doesn't mention this booing at all, i think it was a kayfabe thing to turn her heel (which they should have done along time ago btw). We know that WWE have hired people in the crowd to start reactions like chants and stuff like that.

Explorer you hit the nail on the head. I totally agreed with you here. Raw dominated and the crowd clearly wanted Smackdown to come out victorious but they went RAW again so they took out their anger on Ronda Rousey. But, is there anyone woman in the WWE who can beat Ronda? Well, except when they try their cheap shots or gang up on her from behind. Ronda is absolutely fearless of no one and is there anyone who can intimidate her? No!!! She's always READY for a fight, haven't you noticed? Ronda is BADDEST and the BEST. She beats them ALL.

I don't think it was boo'ing Ronda but rather boo'ing what Ronda represents. The WWE's track record of ignoring the fan reaction and focusing on what they want the fans to react to. Becky is in the same boat as Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, and countless others who despite the fans being behind, WWE chose others they felt would better serve them in the spotlight.

The biggest wrestling fans appreciate hard work. The independent wrestlers will always come into the WWE with more respect than the performance center guys and Brock’s and the Ronda’s of the world. Fans see those people as folks who have had it easy. For Ronda Rousey to come into a WWE ring and win the women’s championship her third match in is seen as an insult to the other wrestlers who have worked 10 years just to get to the WWE never mind getting a world title shot. That’s the entire gimmick of Rousey vs Becky that they sold from the beginning. Ronda coming in and jumping to the head of the line still sits raw with a lot of people, Never mind the fact that Ronda could shoot beat the trash out of damn near every woman on the roster in real life. In the fans eyes Ronda is Brock Lesnar. She’s the unbeatable super champ and money machine that Vince McMahon loves. And now to see someone else come in with a legit Indy pro wrestling career like Becky go up against her with a bloody nose and a “I ain’t scared of you” mentality, that will sell! Charlotte carries with her that same thing being a stellar athlete and probably in the top 5 best wrestlers in the company gender aside. So seeing her go up against Rousey on her turf? Hell yeah the crowd is going to be on Charlotte’s side.

They are also setting up Four Horsewoman of MMA (The other three are in NXT) Vs 4 Horsewoman of WWE (Becky, Charlotte, Sasha and Bayley).

Crowd was against Raw winning over SmackDown. It was a smackdown crowd

If you understood how over Becky is, you'd get it. Ronda was always going to get booed. The way her promos cut down Beckys past made her really unlikeable going into this. It only gave people more of a reason to get behind Becky. She was the biggest star of the night and she wasn't even there.

I didn't think it was strange because I think Ronda heat is over her self entitlement, very sensitive to dislikes, crowd reaction, losing. She had that brat attitude in UFC and has it at WWE. I think she needs to ride with the heat she's getting, turn it into a advantage. However I am glad Charlotte gave it to her. She needed a beating like that from a WWE Superstar. Bring her down a peg or two. Attitude and respect is everything in that business and in life.

I remember when The Rock first took a break from wrestling to do movies, disney garbage, he returned and the crowd boo'd him in every city. But, the Rock embraced it, used it. Every city he he wrestle in, he shitted on them. Even made songs shitting on them. Then all the sudden, the crowd loved him again. When they started chanting again with him, he interrupted "Whoaaaa, this isn't sing a long with The Rock"

Exactly back in the day late 80’s/early 90’s a wrestler worked there way up won ic title then possibly tag team then got involved in wwf title race could of took 1 or more years. But nowadays if a person comes in and get thrust into the title picture straight away ie Ronda/roman you can’t root for someone who has basically queue jumped.

It's like now the only way to get massive pops is that you got to be a heel first and lose a bunch and flip face or as a face lose a bunch and then flip to heel then back to face again. As stupid as it sounds I believe that's where the big reactions come from. Austin, Rock, Bryan, Lynch etc

The same thing happened to the Rock when he started. He came in as a baby face super nice guy and the fans hated him haha. So he turned heal and the fans started to love him.

It would be cool if you did more on wrestling Kristian especially nxt if you gonna watch wwe. I think alot of people would view those videos on collider I know I will.

It's the Becky Lynch effect. Becky and Ronda have been going at it for weeks on Twitter and Ronda was not winning. Both were doing a ton of work outside of the shows to really hype it up. Anyone that is in a feud with her is going to get booed. Edge couldn't even get the crowd not to cheer for her when she referenced his real broken neck. She is the most over star I've seen in a long time and I was a huge fan during the Attitude era before falling out of it. She has that spunk of someone like Austin or Rock or Jericho if they let her run with it. And she cuts great promos that don't feel PG. Like listen to the chants on Raw last night and she isn't even on that show. If they go into another Becky and Charlotte feud tonight, Charlotte will be massively booed again too. They have money with her and creative better realize it. There are so many opportunities to go if the writers don't mess it up.

I was there, and I tell you we just had fun booing the hell out of her. And most were mad Becky was out. But trust me everyone just had a goodnight, especially when Charlotte went mayhem on her. It was enjoyable.

She took full whacks to the face, ear and back of the head with the kendo (enough to cut her up), her hand got trampled when Charlotte did the moonsault, she took an elbow to the cheek (which was the more obvious injury), had her legs and chest sliced, bruises all on her arms and elsewhere -- all for people's entertainment... And they boo'd the shit out of her because they didn't get Becky instead. I get why some people don't like Ronda, but leave that shit for outside of the performance. She went in there and took a serious beating, both real and fake. If you can't give her some props for doing that to entertain you, you need to look at yourself, not the person you're booing. Sad part is that they paint her as the bad guy for being a bit upset over the chants.

2:22 Rousey was born in Riverside, California and grew up in North or South Dakota until her dad killed himself moved to Santa Monica, California. She doesn't even live in LA County anymore, she lives somewhere in Riverside County. LA was never really her hometown.

WWE has also booked Ronda as too powerful. She should have lost a match by now just from inexperience. But when she's kicking out of or blocking moves that Charlotte finishes people with ... the fans see that. She;s jumped right to Hogan, Cena, etc level of invincibly without overcoming anything.

I just wish next year they would have nxt join the brand war.

Huge part of it is Becky, definitely. Every fan was ready to cheer Becky and boo Ronda. They already chose a side. We all know the WWE is going to go for the 4 Horse Women vs. the 4 Horse Women. The fans are going to choose the Becky, Charlotte, Bayley, Sasha side; It represents the Wrestling First. Plus, I think the way Charlotte attacked was very refreshing, it felt real, it felt like a woman that was really showcasing she can go at it as well as any guy. Her and Becky were amazing in their match at Evolution and should have been the main event. Having Nikki vs. Ronda happen after sent that message that the writers want Ronda in the top spot over Charlotte and Becky. But with this, us as fans want to see Becky to hit that glass ceiling. But think about it, she has only been in the ring with people we love to boo: Stephaine, Nia, Nikki, and Alexa. She hasn't actually want to any wrestlers that we want to see win over her.

Ronda got the fans back for the most part the next night on WWE Raw. It was kinda cool.

You literally can't say that Roman Reigns got pushed down our throats and not think the same thing about Ronda. She's been protected to the top and her move to RAW not only ensured that as long as she is a face that Sasha and Becky (along with Ember Moon) won't even sniff the title but her coming to RAW also forced Asuka to Smackdown and kept Naomi there (while bringing Natalya (and the Riott Squad) over). Asuka and Naomi on RAW (plus Sasha and Bayley) would have been way more formidable roster than Alexa and Riott Squad (Ruby is a damn good wrestler but probably won't sniff the title any time soon)

The fans can really figure out who the the "company approved" wrestler is and they will turn on them fast, especially when they have picked their own star.

This remind me of that match between Bret Hart and Stone Cold Steve Austin, When Bret Put Stone Cold over. Bret was the Face and Austin was the Heel. During the Match there was a crowd switch and they started cheering Austin and booing Bret. Bret Hart feeling the change in the crowd turned heel because that was where the crowd was leading him. If Rousey had a little more experience she would have instictively did a heel change

I think it would have been even more like that match had it been Lynch. When Rousey was in tha UFC half the people who watched her fights were rooting for her to lose and she sounds like a heel when she cuts promos, she definitely needs to do a turn.

Or Maybe the experienced Wrestlers should have coached her to go with the crowed and don't take this shit too serious. IF the Crowd is booing don't be afraid to turn heel because the crowd is unpredictable.

The crowd is a different beast now in wrestling. They don't like people forced down their throats and WWE is tone deaf to that because the push who they want too. Ronda has gotten so much in her first year in the company and some people resent that.

Part of the problem is that Rousey's booked to be both a Talker and a Badass, exactly how Becky actually became, so comparing the two became near impossible. While Rousey has clearly gone better than what we expected and still is improving, her character and performances just don't quite reach up to Becky's so in a PPV where you're supposed to "pick a side" they'd easily go with her. Even if Charlotte isn't Becky, her going heel and beating up Ronda was in essence what people wanted to see Becky do. I do think Ronda has a bit of a fan-exhaustion to her coming on due to how strongly booked she is and how fast she's doing things, and perhaps this becomes the moment it catches momentum, but overall I don't thinks fans really dislike her more than the scenario that PPV led us to. Doesn't help that PPV's are now 6 hours and the night was just 1 side winning even though Raw's side primarily consisted of heels led to an annoyed crowd.

Its because they want the attitude era back, I stopped watching when it went back to PG, but I find myself checking the latest ppvs cause I hear it's on the verge of going back to that era... I get that they can't do a lot of the stuff they use to or say, but at least push the envelop and make it more believable like it was.

It's weird because while she got booed at SS, the next night on raw she was cheered, in the same building. Granted there were the ever present Becky chants - Lynch mob in full force - but they didn't turn on her. That was just a frustrated crowd that night at SS. They wanted her, she didn't come, so a beating from Charlotte, Becky's proxy, was as good as coming from Lynch herself and thus giving Lynch a victory (even though it was a DQ loss) RR is still over, fans still love her, but that was just a weird PPV from the start. She hasn't been rejected, not at all and still incredibly popular. Don't forget. L.A. is Becky's adopted hometown and base as well, so that may have played a factor as well. Eveything's still good with Ronda.

Part of it is because LA is whats known in wrestling as a smart town. So they boo things that arent organic.They want wrestlers to earn their main event status over time like a Daniel Bryan or Stone Cold. Not who WWE just decides should be the main eventer

I completely agree. Yes, Ronda is learning, but she has a very long way to go. She's still working with scripted and practiced matches, and to anyone that's watched wrestling over the years, her arsenal is still very limited. Her promos are also improving. She was practically handed the championship, and apart from Nia Jax and Tamina Snuka (yes, the daughter of Superfly Jimmy) there's practically no one else to give her a serious challenge. Her booking has been horrific - she should have a serious program with both (or either) and give her a chance to learn some more. It's revolting the way she has been 'protected' up until just recently.

Taking the wrestling angles out of it. There are a number of fans that didn't like Rhonda in MMA and are not going to like her now. They feel because of her last 2 fights in MMA she was a hype job and given her spot as the face of women's MMA. Rhoda did herself no favors with her behavior and horrible interviews after the losses. Now they feel she has been given the spot in WWE and thus see gets heat. I hope Rhonda has developed the maturity to handle them booing her! I think she would make a great heel.
