Thank u for realizing that...cr7 and messi are nowhere near to r9. Cr7 is just a finisher but he hasnt got skills like r9. Cr7 has the best workout disciplines and no doubt about it and that makes cr7 is the fittest soccer player. Who can do like r9 did...nutmeg while on high speed dribbling #47. It s not a fluke coz r9 likes to nutmeg..no one in current generation comes close to r9 when it comes to nutmeg except neymar and ronaldinho. No one dribbles goalies when scoring goals like r9 did.

It is the explosive acceleration and jet speed with the ball glued to his feet that was monstrous... the sharpest most clinical deadliest striker ever... the most complete... He invented the number 9 definitely.. he invented the ‘penetrating, stabbing’ striker.... not just a finisher... he scored goals dribbling and running from the half-line.... he turned defenders inside out, like folding clothes... breaking them ankles... No greater satisfaction than watching him play in the 90s and 2000s... what a great memory watching the world cups of 98, 02 and 06....

I watched a lot of matches for Pele,Maradona, Messi and Ronaldo. Prime Ronaldo(late 90s) is the best ever. Also Ronaldo is very underrated in passing and he maybe is better than Messi in that aspect. Messi is slightly better than Ronaldo in dribbling and Messi is maybe the best dribbler after Maradona. But Ronaldo was better than Messi in every other aspect.

Is not what he does but also the way he does it. Technically perfect, nobody in the pitch has been able to do all these things at this level in a professional match. No messi, maradona, cr7, or anybody. If you want goals see the top scorers of all time, but if you want to see the best in history watch phenomenon's career.

Almost 2 years out, came back, top scored and won the world cup in 2002. 3 back to back finals. If it wasn't for the seizure he would have had 3 world cups. If it wasn't for the injury it would have probably been 3 or 4. Played for multiple clubs. Didn't win champions league because he didn't play it every year for a single team. He left and went to other leagues where he could barely understand their language and was scoring at almost a goal per game until he got injured at inter. He won the europa cup. Messi and Cr7 has never won that because they played for the 2 best teams. Stop compare these one club players to the legend. Ronaldo is the greatest ever.

In Pele's ara there was o serie A in Brazilian leahue as Zerie B and Serie C were invluded to that combinetly. So... Pele played in weak league. Fact he won International club cup and World Cups hardly make matter as that level was still way too far from modern football. In short stage probably R9 in 2002 and Maradona in 1986 had best performance ever. Neither nor Messi or Cristtisno were top scorer in either of World Cup and Champiins League just as Eusebio in 1966 so they have long careers with no good peak at all. People will take look on that in 20 years in the future You will see...

Despite fact R9 never won Champions League I belive pople in XII century will remember him just as George Best despite few achivements in comptasion to say Gerd Muller. If not bettter as R9 is the only goalsvorer since 1970 who scored more than 6 goals in world cup and he was youngest player of the year in history not once but teo times (Mesi in 2009 was okder than Ronaldo in either of 1996 and 1997!!)

He is my favorite player ever. When he was at is prime before the injuries we had a glimpse of something truly divine. Kids nowadays as well as most people who forgot about this, aren't aware of his dominance. Ronaldo was absolutely destroying the game and redefining what a striker would become in the future. Ronaldo had THE SAME EVERY BIT OF SKILL as Messi and the power and speed of CR7. I was a young teenager when Ronaldo came to the scene and to this day, although CR7 and Messi will end up with much more trophies and accolades, none of them impressed me as R9 did. Might sound impossible to kids nowadays to consider this. Messi is a technically perfect player. CR7 is the most efficient machine there is. But if R9 was playing healthy today in teams as dominant as Barça and Real, he would score as much or more than both. And this without the free kicks of Messi or the headers of CR7.

I never knew he said that, and consequently love him for it (though doesn't change one of my all time favourite World Cup moments when Rijkaard gobbed in Voller's mullet WC1990!) So many great re Ronaldo quotes. Bobby Robson: "The only player defenders get scared of when he gets the ball on the halfway line" (or words to that effect). Mourinho: "The greatest player I have ever seen? Ronaldo, the real Ronaldo." (Again, words to that effect).

Me too I saw it. Man BRAZIL played all South America qualification matches with all the Stars EXCEPT RONALDO (Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Roberto carlos, Kaka, Cafu,...), they HARDLY made it to the World Cup 2002 finals (third place in qualifications). RONALDO joined them in World Cup 2002. He played 60% of each game (recovering from knee injury), became the TOP SCORER with 8 goals and won the World Cup 2002. Can any player do that ?

because of his dribbling style ,he put to much pressure on his knees ,that's why he suffered those horrific injuries ,but nonetheless , he came back from the last one,that looked like a career ending injury and he won the world cup ,playing like it was nothing . Pure talent ,one of the best players ever ,definitely the best striker that played the game ,just love this guy ,to bad we didn't appreciate him back in the day as much as he deserved

Stats don't lie... Pele and Messi are/were highly skillful players who are/were massively effective in games. But for me the best 2 players of all time were Maradona and R9 because they were hugely effective and as entertaining as it gets to watch. Special mention for Ronaldinho too who did some absolutely ridiculous things on a football pitch.

R9 had it all! Doubt I will ever see another player with the size, speed, upper body strength, dribbling skills, balance, finishing ability, and the style (nobody made rounding a keeper look cooler).

The first time i saw the #17 i thought: i need to learn that, so i began to train hard and after a month i learned, i remember the fist time i did this skill, on the school, the crowd gone wild.
