I'm not kidding! It was summer 1997 and, as an Inter supporter, I heard rumours about the Ronaldo transfer from Barça to Inter. In that time, Internet, emails, chat messaging were not famous but I wrote an email to Inter's president Massimo Moratti praying him to buy Ronaldo Luis Nazario da Lima! Of course I'm not responsible of that transfer, but when I knew it happened I was the happiest boy in the world (I was 15). It was curious also to travel few weeks later in Barcelona with my family wearing the new Ronaldo Inter t-shirt while walking in Barcelona! Cool! And this story is 100% true!

Very true Angelito, but do not forget that as Maradona came to Napoli, in 1984, and the team, had still people that played in "serie B". Something that today would be impossible.The team, for a champion like that,was "unusual" unfit, infact the Napoli that won our liga, was in 1987. As you told, that Napoli had key players but, no need to say, Maradona made the difference that gave Napoli the right result, in more then one confrontation. As I told and I say again, Sacchi, more then once, even today, says that he won't see again, ever, someone like Maradona playing football.

In his years with Barcelona and Inter...by far the best and most exciting player I ever saw. Sky was a limit for Ronaldo if there was no injuries and we was all robbed for super special career and football. Loved and still love his game.

If he had stayed in Barcelona and not gone to Inter Milan, neither would he have been injured nor would his career have been cut short, and today he would have the most goals. But still he is a greatest striker for me and my love for Football R9 🇧🇷

He was overweight, way past his prime, after several career ending injuries in his resume, and still got over 0,5 goals per game on Corinthians and almost that on Milan. Ronaldo at the age of 20, before injuries, was scoring 1 goal per game on Barcelona (who does that at that age?), a much weaker Barcelona btw. At the age of 21 we was two times the best player in the world, top scorer of 3 different national leagues, mvp of 98 world cup, 1x WC winner and 1x WC runner up. After 2 years out due to a career ending injury (doctors around the world saying he would never play football again), he come back and won the 2002 world cup being the top scorer and scoring 2 goals in the final against Germany. WHO THE FUCK DOES THAT? He was BY FAR the most talented player that ever played this game.

Defenders during those 90's Serie A are no joke and all of them are truly world class and you have Ronaldo Phenomenon doing easy stepover and dribbling past them as if they were like chesse. Nesta, Maldini, Montero, Thuram, Costacurta, Desailly and so many more others. This is why R9 will always be greater than Messi/CR7 because R9 plays in an era against TRULY TOUGH defenders and he beats them. Messi and CR7 is lucky today to be able to score so many goals because they play against much less tough defenders nowadays compare to R9's era. And they say Ronaldo has 0 UCL? Well Messi/CR7 has 0 World Cup. For R9, it's not about titles, not about numbers, it's about his magic. This guy will be always remembered as the guy who broke the league, the guy who single handedly, beside Maradona, made the impossible to be possible, that is tore the Italian defence of the great Serie A apart.

@@domcomfermi609 Defenders nowadays couldn't tackle the way Maldini,Nesta and other legendary defenders did back then.Because they can get a red card.Nowadays defenders have to make sure that their tackles are "safe" enough to make sure that the opponents doesn't fall(But let's be honest,if the players are like Sterling and Neymar who loves to dive,no matter how "safe" your tackle is they would still says that they've been fouled).

Yo siendo argentino y de la genaracion del fenomeno solo me gusta decir siempre que lo veo que no solo fue por lejos el mejor 9 de todos lod tiempos ,si no el futbolista que desde su explocion lo cambio todo . Su imagen te dejaba quieto moriamos todos por ver esas bicicleta , gambeta explocion goles con las 2 piernas fue unico si la vida lo habria ayudado un poco mas en lo fisico no se hasta donde habria llegado .

Man, footballers were such magicians up until Messi's and CR7's era. Those 2 are the last of their kind... for now. Seriously, Mbappé (Henry 2 at best), Haaland, Vini or other young guys aren't hitting the same way at all. I grew up watching R9 and Dinho. They were so magical and superhuman. The modern era is so bland in comparison. I'm eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new prodigy like them.
