This is one of the reasons I believe Ronaldo is the GOAT. He calls out not only himself but his teammates too. He doesn’t care about being nice, he only cares about winning. He is not leading by example. The best player ever was also by far the best leader. He did not need words. That was Diego Maradona. Just looking at him and not his big mouth but superb class and he is unrelenting will to fight all over the field was an inspiration for any teammate. His leading by example made all others work hard, if it was not for themselves it was for Diego who on the pitch and outside was very humble. Maradona is in a class of his own.

With all due respect to Maradona, a guy who was a frequent drug abuser during his career and proven cheater (hand of god) doesn’t qualify as a great role model or leader. CR7 showcases his work ethic inside and outside the pitch, promotes a healthy lifestyle, and also has trophies to back everything up. The guy is what everyone strives to be: a bonafide great, record-holder, marketable, peak fitness, a great family man, and more. Respectfully, Maradona does not come close to a lot of those things.

I have admit that I am impressed by his mentality of always wanting more and his ambition to win. Anyone in his position would have been able to sit down and drink water. I am also concerned about how Pirlo did not give instructions to improve the game because to be honest they played terrible compared to Jürgen Klopp or other coaches at half time gave instructions. It does not seem bad to me that he is giving a self-criticism of the game knowing that they are playing a champion that is all or nothing. For me he is a leader because no one would have done exactly what he did, and if not according to what I say is fine, we all have different opinions.
