When Messi was 17 and was promoted to the first team at Barca, he was a very shy kid, Ronaldinho (one of the best players in the world at that time) took him under his wing and treated him like a little brother and taught him everything he knew. He even introduced him to Kobe Bryant as "the guy who will be the best player in history" when Lionel was barely on the radar of football. They are very close friends even now.

I remember watching watching this about 7 , 6 years ago thereabout and I watched a Ronaldinho reaction video and remembered this one , typed it in the search box and came back here. If I am not mistaken this was the first football video I remember watching and it was this video that sparked my interest in football. Two legends one story.

Messi had a great career and may be the GOAT. But what Ronaldinho did at his peak, was something very very special. He makes you love the game and just be happy every time you watch it. Almost therapeutic. He played in bliss. And once he attained that state, he didn’t mind much about losing it to others. He could see what Messi was and did all to let him blossom. There is no argument because Ronaldinho lost his love for the game. Had Ronaldinho been able to stay motivated and stay in shape, there would be no argument and Messi and Ronaldo would be on the back burners. Ronaldinho's skill and talent were in a class all their own. No one had the futbol brain and skills Ronnie showed on the pitch. No one. That is why it is so sad the guy lost his love and motivation for the game in his prime. Almost like Barry Sanders. Ronaldo and Messi will always be argued as the best because they were able to sustain their greatness over a decade and a half and still maintain their love for futbol and motivation to stay in great shape.

Ronaldinho is simply great. I've never seen anyone close to him. He has the total package, football skills, people skills and of course entertainment. I think he could be anything in life, his spirit goes beyond football.

The sport itself expressed itself through him, as like it got a soul. If you watch him, you feel that soul, this passion. There is no other which is able to do this.
