Old man here... never heard of Romy before though I'd vaguely heard the name of the earlier band (but none of the music.) Heard this once or twice on R6M and quite liked it. Third, fourth time, I started to recognise it and pay a bit more attention. Driving today, Mary-Annd Hobbs played it, I turned it up proper loud, and suddenly -- OMG!! Pop perfection! Every part of the music and vocal went KERCLICK in my head. The melancholic tone... the hooks... everything. Genius! Gonna have to buy the album now :) PS She's live in session on MAH show this Monday 11th Sept '23,, Radio 6 Music.

Oliver dropping his own album and that was good from start to finish., made me cry even. Saw Jamie live because of one of my best friends after In Colour dropped and everything he's dropped so far has been absolute FIRE. BUT ROMY DROPPING MID AIR?! No joke I've listened to this album from start to finish so many times on Spotify now and I am YET to get tired of it. I'm so glad the members of the xx individually are such talents because they all bring something different to the table while still having the same kind of ethereal quality? idk how to explain it but i'm so happy to be able to enjoy all of their music and Mid Air by Romy absolutely delivers more than I ever excepted it to.
