    The marble map is one of the coolest Roman survivals that exists . The scale is amazing the cartographers at the time really put a lot of work into this map. It would have been a task to go out and make the surveys and take down all the measurements .

    Been in Rome 4 times and already planning the fifth , but each and every time i find something new in this marvelous city. I am a lover of antiquities and every piece of marble or tuff or travertine tells you a secret about the grandeur of Rome. So happy for this new museum, was wanting for many years to see the Forma Urbis in person, cant wait to visit. Thank you Darius for your videos , very informative and helpful content!

    Just to thank you, Darius! The archeological Park is definitely worthwhile visiting and I am really glad having done so today in Rome. Without having seen your explanations of the artifacts, though, the park is very difficult to understand: the descriptions are very scarse and sparse. For example, there is nothing indicating that you are standing in front of parts of Galba's tomb, or that the three Pomerium Cippi are just in front of you. So, thank you again Darius: without your explanations I would have never been able to fully understand what I was seeing!

    I have said this before, but say it again: your educational videos are priceless, because they are more than just up-to-date, but up-to-the-minute material. Thank YOU Darius. Excellent. I have a practical question for you: did the average Roman really believe in those emperors making themselves "gods", who built temples for people to pretend they are worshipping them? It sounds more like a political farce than a religious lore

  • @DariusArya

    @DariusArya

    5 ай бұрын

    Si sicuramente e’ stato una scelta soggettiva… anche quelli di Lanciani non e’ male… da anni si e’ detto sarebbe un allestimento su muro (come allestito nel passato nei musei capitolini)… ma alla fine pare che hanno deciso per terra così e’ possibile vederli meglio… dunque io spero che presto sarà obbligatorio indossare calzini come nelle sale nel MANN per conservare i pavimenti antichi…
