ROME IN A DAY WITH KIDS
We visited Rome last week and here are some of our favourite things to do in Rome with kids. We were only visiting Rome for a short period of time, so this is a good guide for what you can do in a day in Rome with the children in tow!
We managed to see all the big sights (the Spanish Steps, the Coliseum, the Pantheon, and the Trevi Fountain) with the exception of Vatican City - unfortunately we didn't have time to do that AND see everything else, so we'll have to go back one day ; )
We also took a wander round the Trastevere area of Rome. It's a great place to go in the evening for dinner or drinks, really pretty and a nice atmosphere.
We forgot to buy tickets in advance for the coliseum, but we discovered some great ways to avoid the queues for on the day coliseum tickets. If you are looking to get coliseum tickets without having to queue, watch my video for our top tips!
Our hotel was LH Royal Suites, which was really central to all the places of interest in Rome, and was a great base for our family of five. www.tripadviso...

It was hot but we were up early and out late so missed the bulk of the midday heat
Ace vlog chloe! Love the shots and editing!!! What camera do you use? Do you use filters, your colours are lush. We have a little one who likes not to sleep too so I’m with you on Otto! I would have been so stressed about the passports, pleased you had family members to help you out!

We were mildly stressed about the passports ; ) The talking to camera bits are filmed with a G7X, the 'nicer' bits are filmed with a mirrorless camera with 50mm lens on it (I actually wouldn't recommend the camera I have for video specifically, but a mirrorless camera with good video capabilities (AKA the sony ones) are a great bit of kit to have if you want to capture that sort of depth of field. I don't use filters but I do do some colour and contrast tweaking in Premiere Pro.
