HOW I CONCEIVED MY CHILDREN WITH PCOS AND LUTEAL PHASE DEFECT

How I conceived my three children despite having PCOS. PCOS presents differently for everyone, but if you suffer from luteal phase defect, PCOS with short cycles, high testosterone and low progesterone, my story of how I got pregnant with PCOS could be useful.

ABOUT US
I'm Chloë. I live in London, UK, with my husband and our three boys, aged eight and under. My absolute favourite thing in the world is documenting our family story through words, videos, and photos.
I started my blog when my firstborn was a baby. I was 25, and my whole world had changed with an unplanned pregnancy. I felt lonely and bored and was hoping a blog might help connect me with like-minded parents whilst also giving me a much needed creative focus.
Our sudden ascent into parenthood was messy, life with kids is messy, and so is the state of my head at the best of times- hence Sorry About The Mess.
Things are much more settled in our life now. I've gone on to have two more children, and you'll mainly find me chatting about house renovations (we bought a fixer-upper), my motherhood experience so far, and our recent wedding!
As well as blogging and vlogging, you can find me chatting away daily on Instagram.
The digital record, that's for me, really. So I'll be able to look back and recall every fibre of the happy moments, the everyday moments, and the big life events that make up our family story.

I had pcos and conceived at 38, I was 20 when I got told that it would be difficult for me to have children. I was quite heavy in my 20's, aroundabout 12 stone 13lbs, I decided enough was enough at 37/38 I lost all my weight, I went down to about 9 stone 1, it helped, I conceived and now we have a lovely bundle of Joy, I am now 40 and I'm not going to have anymore. lol

This is really helpful, Chloe, thank you! You certainly have no problem conceiving :D I was wondering what doses of Vit C and especially B6 you took? I'm taking just under 1000mg of Vit C split through the day and 100mg of Vitamin B6 to fix a LFD, as well as halving coffee intake. This is following three 19-21 day cycles (with the odd normal one mixed in) which I've attributed to a high-stress event earlier in the year zapping my progesterone and rocketing my cortisol. If this doesn't work, I'm going to try Vitex/ Agnus Castus. It would be great to know what form you took of that too? Thanks again

That sounds similar to the doses I was taking of vit C and B6. Agnus castus was tablet form and I can’t remember the dose!

Hi Chloe Thank you so much for your video! I have a really short luteal phase. My periods are Irregular too but mostly they are short like yours coming in at 23/24 days. Im Ovulating day on day 17 (I tested with the clear blue tests and was only getting the flashing smiley face till day 20/21 then Im getting a bleed 5/6 days after ovulation. Implantation bleeding has been mentioned to me but this feels exactly like a period it isnt spotting its usual bleeding with mild cramping. Did you find taking the supplements lengthened your luteal phase? If so how long did this take? Im so low at the moment with all this just feels its going to be an impossible path for us x

I have a very similar experience as you Jessica. I realized my luteal phase was far too short and I ovulate late like day 15-17. My cycle is about 23/25 days. I just spoke with my doctor and I’m trying Clomid next cycle. I pray God opens the door.

@@Golddusttwin1 Hi guys! I'm in the exact same boat as you both 😫 can I please ask how long you have been ttc? Not sure when to see the doctor as I've only been tracking my cycles for 3 months but have had 4 or 5 day luteal phases every month so far.

Hailey Gray Hi Hailey. So here’s an update. I started taking Vitamin B6 earlier this month (before my period) and now I’m going into day 10 dpo with no spotting. Caveat: I am also taking progesterone starting 3 days after ovulation. However, last month I used Clomid and progesterone and my LP went from 6 to 8 days. Not great, but better than nothing. This month I didn’t use Clomid but started Vitamin B6 in conjunction with my prenatal vitamins and now I’m on 10dpo. I also seem to have ovulated a few days earlier than last month. This seems to be really working well for me. Time and prayer will tell, but I’m hopeful. Also I’m taking Vitamin C everyday and eating fruits and veggies. Hope this helps. Oh and also been TTC since about February. I really started paying attention to and tracking my cycles starting in Dec19/Jan 20.

Their counsellors informed them on most occasions where their problem was “unknown.” My pal made a decision to buy the *ThePregnancyFact.
