Romania was a HUGE SHOCK - Budget MOTORHOME Europe Trip

Our Wales to Greece Budget motorhome trip has arrived in Romania, and wow were we shocked with what we've found!
Romania has a very dark history, however watch our video to find out what we thought of our first few days here.
Our first stop is close to the border, where we had a long wait to get our documents checked.
Please follow us on our journey to travel from Wales to Greece on a spending budget of £2500, we are doing this trip in a 3 month period.

    Can you stop complimenting those disgusting gypsy "palaces"?, They have the most tasteless design, as well as the fact that they're built out of stolen money usually, or money coming from shady sources, on top of that, they intentionally don't finish the houses outside entirely, so they don't pay taxes to the state, they're disgusting and deserve to be torned down

    I have been fortunate to have visited 19 countries and find Romania to be one of my surprisingly favorites. My husband and I went in 2019! We went thru a Romanian travel company and had one other couple touring with us. We had the tour for 11 days and flew over with British air. We travel from the far north to the south of Romania seeing everything in each of the villages and cities. We had 2 meals each day plus wonderful places to sleep! The entire cost us less than 6 000 including air! That was total cost for both!!

    Hi Corrin and Paul. Just a quick question about the Romanian vignette. We are a small motor home weighing less than 3.5 ton so I assume we just buy the “car” vignette? Do you need to print the paper work off to show at border control? Thanks for that. We are in Croatia at the moment, we have to be in Romania by 5Th June as that is when my 90 days are up. Just getting prepared. Still having a fantastic time. Regards Annette and Pete

    Hi Annette, Hope you guys are well and enjoying Croatia. You are right, it’s the car vignette you need. They want your v5 and passports at the border crossing, they looked at our insurance too, but they didn’t in Bulgaria. You don’t need to print out your vignette, it’s all held in a database showing you have paid. Keep a copy handy on your phone though as we saw the police constantly pulling cars over throughout the country (and more so in Bulgaria) Enjoy Romania, it’s a wonderful country Best wishes Corrin & Paul

We checked and the information with the online Romanian official website and the reply was as follows “In order to drive on Romanian national roads with a motor vehicle, an electronic vignette is generally required. Motorcycles are exempt from this requirement. Motorhomes are tolled like passenger cars, regardless of their gross vehicle weight.” Thanks for your comment, it is a good reminder that it’s very very important to double check every country as a mistake can be an expensive fine. • @airspeedmph

    @airspeedmph

    Жыл бұрын

    @@redsgotravels I don't see my question as a negative comment. You made me curious why did you even mentioned those ill effects, the phrase was a bit ambiguous for me. You also made me curious about those negative comments so I read them all. So far I found several that can qualify, in three videos: - "2 rednecks and a dog. Perfect recepie for desaster."(sic). Yep, that was rude indeed, sorry about that. - "The video will only show you. Nothing from gorgeous Romania. What have you visited? Nothing else." For the record, I don't agree with that, I see just two people recording *their* trip, and under no obligation to act as complete guides. Again, rude, but I don't see it as a negativity from Romanians specifically, but rather from rude people. We do have those. Other remarks about our "unusual country" and gypsies are different though, you can sense the chip on commenters shoulders. And the reason is that basically we are sick and tired and bored and annoyed (you get the picture) with the preconceived ideas that foreigners have about us, and being associated with gypsies. We are very sensitive about that, and so far the western media hasn't done anything but to reinforce those preconceptions. Your video also didn't helped too much by showing first thing first in Romania a gypsy village and making random "looks like a prisoners of war camp" comments...though (between you and me) it did looked like a prisoners of war camp. We do like to be visited, and we are lucky that this happens more and more in recent years, because this is the best advertise that we can get. As opposed to the mainstream western media, these traveling videos are overwhelmingly positive about us, and as a consequence the outside perception is starting to slowly shift towards reality.
