This is one of the most crazy RPG i've ever played. After hundreds of hour playing, your main character settled at the beginning of story finally shows up. I almost forgot that I had a main character. LOL

Whole game's events are just a retelling of the Empire's exploits. That's the beauty of it all, the prologue is just the beginning of the epilogue at the same time. Not many RPGs do something like that which is quite refreshing for such a twist, however if you paid attention as soon as you started the game, you would have seen the Emperor/Empress in the bar, listening in to the story being woven.

This is so epic. It is much better than romancing saga 3’s ending. Actually, except the graphics, RS2 was much better than RS3 in my opinion.

This boss is insane, you either grind magic until you get spells like Shadow Servant, Hasten Time or Dragon Pulse, that absolutely break the game or you just don't beat him at all. I tell you, I have a lot of respect for someone who can beat this boss using only "normal" spells, the last 2 phases are just overwhelming.

Yeah it is. My last playthrough I figured I’d get a bunch of good techs and half ass the magic builds. Can’t finish it. I saved at the end and can’t leave. Lol.

I love how this game is a thing in US now. And they didn't mess up the graphics, as they did with FF6.

The Pixel Remaster of FF6 arguably looks worse. That's pretty funny.

This seems like a very interesting boss. It's like the farther you go in, the more attacks you have to deal with, and the more turns they get.

It looks a LOT like the 3 goddesses final boss battle at the end of Final Fantasy 3/6. I like how they kept the graphics 90% the same for this version, but just made them crisper with more detailed animation.

They actually did do a show stage version it was uploaded on KZread until was taken down but however it was posted on another website and it is completely the same but some differences though and I enjoyed it

16:04 the ending's so good, you can kill a GUARDIAN with Hasten Time for some unknown reason.

The timing is off when the heroes let out their death scream when the emperor is walking away. I notice weird things like that.....Love love love this game though!

Also funny both games' final bosses are also amalgamations of other existing threats. That's also knowing both games also have secret bosses that have separate matters on their own. Quite amazing.

I dont know how to feel about motion tweens im my favorite clasic games . At least this one is sorta competent.

I’m am currently playing the game, and I am near the end of it. I’ve killed 3 heroes so far. I was wondering on how to get spells like reviver, galaxy, and crimson flare? Can’t seem to figure out how.

radical streamers yes i have it unlocked. I was close to getting fire spells, done then the character i had with the highest fire spell died. So now i have to do it all over again

RetroFoxy I remember that to get reviver and Galaxy, you need to grind fire and light spells respectively. I think Crimson Flare is a combination of both of those spells as well.

Kzinssie (porygonlover322) Nice Still, Aabeta is pretty outdated. I'd suggest translating Bokuno instead. They use the same base hack, but they sorta branched into two different things. Aabeta is way too unbalanced, and doesn't get updates anymore.

I know, but the "doesn't get updates" part is why I went for it - I want to be able to take as long as I need to cover everything the hack has to offer without worrying about new content coming in.

@@RetroFoxy I've played the game and I'm looking over some image search results now but I can't find any way of identifying Subier or Bokhohn in this picture. Subier doesn't seem to look like anybody here, and Bokhohn wears a weird costume or something... it's difficult to be certain of the artist's intention!

gabriel1234 the last emperor/empress quit because he/she not only has the skills of previous emperors, but also their memories, they had to fight against the seven heroes, watch their partners die in battle, all that in what it feels like centuries, repeating the same painful and tiring process, like she says to that kid in somon, being an ruler is a tough life, and she didn't recommended that life to that kid.

Wagnas was warped due to Absorption Magic; that type of magic allows one to absorb whatever they kill to gain their powers/strength but it changes their own body's properties but also makes them vulnerable to what hurts what they absorbed. Wagnas killed Fae and elementals which were primarily female in appearance to gain magical abilities. Hence why he looked female and had butterfly wings in his first form. Each of the Seven had a specialized type they absorbed which warped their appearance * Rocbouquet: Human Women * Noel: Experts in their field (Though he is listed with Dragon Attribute in RS2) * Bokhohn: Plant monsters * Subier: Aquatic monsters * Kzinssie: Demons * Wagnas: Magical/Flying monsters * Dantarg: Beasts

@@diaochan7506 Right, it is best to explain from the start, the Seven Heroes were seven individuals chosen from the ancient peoples of the world. Wagnas was their leader, the ancient peoples had a unique art which allowed for the soul to be transferred from one body to the next, prolonging their own lives and warping the flesh of those whom they inhabited into bodies mirroring their own. Wagnas changed the properties of that magic into what is known as Absorption Magic which allowed them to absorb the power of whom they defeated. They did so to become strong to face the monsters plaguing the world. However after the war, the Ancient peoples feared that the Seven would turn on them, so the same people banished the Seven into the Abyss. Many however still feared death and left the world via a type of dimensional transfer means. Some of the Ancient peoples like Orieve chose to remain in the world to watch over it. The Seven sought revenge against those whom betrayed them, but they came back to a world where much time has passed and those who banished them have vanished due to their own fears of death. What you fight in the final battle is their form they obtained after they were banished. The Seven you face throughout the game are proxies of themselves sent beyond where they were sealed to explore the world and gain information on where the Ancients that sent them to the Abyss fled to. As long as the main body remains, they could reconstitute and send their proxies out again. A type of pact known as a "Blood Oath" which means one must remain to guard the main body while the others reconstitute. That is why you face the remaining of the seven as the penultimate boss and must defeat 6 of them before entering the final dungeon. According to Subier that oath was a last resort which Wagnas himself forbade. The very inheritance magic that the ancient people used albeit weaker than the original was taught to Leon by Orieve after Victor died to Kzinssie's Soul Steal. It transmitted the knowledge, abilities, and power of Leon to Gerard to learn how to evade Soul Steal. However by the time of the Final Emperor's emergence and Kzinssie's resurrection, the magic reached it's limitations which is why when you lose in the final scenario, it is game over. All of this is further explained in Torrence by Orieve and the remaining ancients if you went there before the final generation.

Does the game explain why the seven heroes became evil?

I think the explanation was this: after the seven heroes brought peace to the world, they continued to keep fighting monsters, absorbing their power and becoming so powerful, that the people became afraid of them. They then trapped the heroes in the Abyss, and inside, the heroes continued to become stronger until they turned into monsters and escaped.

Leon was the first emperor when the Seven were mentioned to him by the witch Oaibu and when Kujinshi killed off his eldest son Victor, It was Gerard, his youngest son who took up the sword in his place and finished off Kujinshi.

The Seven Heroes were members of the ancient race of people in the world. After they saved the world from a threat, the people still fearing death from natural disasters amongst other threats sought to escape it despite knowing the ability to prolong life which is known as the ability of assimilation (Using existing organisms to create bodies to transfer the soul unto), so the ancient people created a dimensional device to escape the world, however the Seven trying to stop them were flung into the underworld. What you see is the true body of the seven morphed and distorted. The ones you encounter throughout the game are akin to avatars they control, (they can reconstitute as long as the main body is intact) so they can achieve their plans of revenge on those who betrayed them and their sacrifices to keep their once respected kin safe. There is a Blood Oath where one must remain guarding the main body for the rest to rejuvenate their own avatars should they be slain. Hence why you fight one of the remaining members of the Seven before fighting the main body. This method itself of the seven fighting in their merged form was considered even forbidden by they leader Wagnas.

I always read about this game's story and the seven heroes but websites/articles never explained why the heroes turned "evil" thanks for the info. But why did the seven heroes try to stop their fellow people from using the dimensional device from leaving the world? why not let them go?

Because it would have made their sacrifices meaningless, not to mention that the device could be abused and manipulated to create an even greater threat.

This version looks so good, but that Flashy Animation with rotating pixels looks like shit, should've gone for some extra frames of redrawn animation for the final boss at least, or move it like Neo Exdeath in FFV.
