This is one of my best childhood!!! I remembered playing this game at night and reading three kingdoms at noon!!!

This game on S-Video back in the day vs the normal cables was a huge difference, 3 of my friends and myself use to spend weekends playing the RoTK series and loved it!

I played this for several years.. I love this iteration of the series

Thanks for sharing this, i've spent my childhood every weekend playing this until RotK X came out. I like the RPG's element than the strategy from RotK series so VIII & X for me XIII was okay but can't just beat those two beast even the AI so stupid 😂

Nice gameplay. I never like Cao Cao after watching the classic show based from novel, but I fell in love with him and Guo Jia as I read more about them on their real bio. After watching this drama thats more accurate story about Cao Cao, I wanna grab some old Rotk game to hunt for Liu bei the snake. I'm currently binge watching drama, it have English subtitle. Well, if we seeing from Cao Coa's point of view we'll understand whats his motives. He just do the right things, know that the Han dinasty couldn't live longer and would fall. same with Liu Bei, He just can't let anyone destroy what's his ancestor build hundred years ago. At least that what I learned watching the 2010 series, movies, books and of course the games (rotk series and dinasty warriors). Thanks for Cao Cao's series playlist, I might to watch it out. Well, the thing is since they're real-life people, they're both decent and bad people. Also, they were politicians, so just like present-day politicians, they did a lot of bad things to achieve what they believed to be good, either for their people or for themselves. Cao Cao's lowest point is perhaps during his invasion of Xu Province when he killed many civillians (pretty much a war crime no matter what time period you're in). He also did a lot of questionable things to assert his control over Imperial Court after he took Emperor Xian into his custody. One of those things was executing Emperor Xian's consort when she's pregnant because Cao believed that she conspired with Dong Cheng (and probably some other court officials) who wanted to assassinate him. Whether or not she's involved is unclear, as some accounts think that she just took the blame to protect the Emperor (who's supposedly involved with the assassination plot). Also, it's hard to deny that usurpation is his goal. Before he died, Cao Cao was already titled King of Wei, which made him one step more to usurp the throne. He died before he ever became Emperor, of course, but his heir Cao Pi inherited the King of Wei title and wasted no time to force Xian to abdicate so he can take the Imperial throne. Keep in mind that this is also how Sima Yan usurped Wei after he inherited the title King of Jin from his late father Sima Zhao. We also have to take the crappy life condition of 3rd-century China into consideration to understand why Cao Cao and Liu Bei did what they did to gain control over the land. Even Sun Ce, the founder of Wu whose reputation is mostly good, was also known for prosecuting Taoists. Yeah, he did religiously-motivated hate crime before it was cool.

@@MastersDefender Cheers for your responds. Regarding to Xu province.. I don't know if you remember how Liu Bei lost his cool upon hearing Guan Yu death. He wanna destroy Wu so bad and he won't listen to anyone. Can you imagine what he would do to the civilians of Wu if he managed to defeat Lu Xun with his army? As for the pregnant Consort, I wrote this review a few years back. This video has a nice break from the traditional Rotk drama, where it mainly focus on the fuadal lords, like Cao Cao, Liu Bei etc. This drama on the other hand focus on Cao Cao main men like Man Chong, Guo Jia, Sima Yi etc. My favorite is gotta be Guo Jia. He's not just brilliantly smart, but he's fun and uplifting to watch, due to his happy nature. On the contrary, I dislike Fu Shou to the point where I skip every scenes that she's in from ep 25 onward, especially when she's with Liu Ping, the fake emperor. I like the Empress Fu at the beginning, but I start to realize that she is a gloom and doom type of downer. Cao Cao offer her the freedom, the prestige and everything that a girl would wanted, but she squander it all by plotting to get revenge and doing so, she end up getting a lot of people killed. I'm still at ep 25 but I was curious, so I look up Fu Shou on Wikipedia. I'm glad she ended up that way, and I can't wait to find out what the ending will be like for this drama. The Han emperor on the other hand was wise, he get to understand Cao Cao more when he get to compare him to Yuan Shao throughout his journey. The most memorable one was not having to see your people that you govern from getting starvation while being segregated for being poor. I'm not sure if it's really the case, regarding the emperor understanding Cao Cao, but the Wikipedia mentioned that the Han Emperor colluded with Liu Bei and that cause his consort with child to be executed. This lead me to wonder, why are those people never seem to happy with their position? Such as being the emperor or empress? It's always about restoring Han or the Ming Dynasty. They never ask how those dynasties become corrupted to the point of no return or become really weak in the first place. The novel wanna make Cao Cao the bad guy, but after much reading, he able to provided protection to the emperor while other just ignored him. Cao Cao able to governed all his conquered cities pretty well. Those surrendered to him get to live free and prosper. On the other hand, the novel make Liu Bei the good guy, but most of his lands are stolen from his friends and allies. His fatal mistake was stealing a city from his Wu ally, Jing Zhou. This caused Guan Yu to be killed from a surprise attack, and Liu Bei getting hell bent on revenge for his sworn brother death, he ended up getting his main army routed and destroyed by Lu Xun fire attacks. That's a lot of children's without a father. Liu Bei and Fu Shou are very similar, they both wanted to restore Han, they never seem happy with what they have, got a lot people killed on the way and his sympathizers wanted them to succeed. Lol. @@condorX2 dude, you are biased, everyone wanted power and everyone did shady things. Liu Bei was the one with less power, so its normal he had to do more shit to get more of it. But the same applies to Cao or Sun families. When you talk, you get me the same vibe that people that thinks cao is bad and liu bei is god. Specially with “most of his lands are stolen from friends “ … like wtf xD. EVERY NATION AND EVERY PERSON IN POWER HAD TO BETRAY PEOPLE IN ORDER TO GET MORE POWER, including your beloved and good caretaker of the emperor Cao Cao.

all you need is confuse and cajole. cajole to prevent tactics lu bu might use and confuse to stun lock. easy win. quick attacking him at the start works wonders as he also only has so much food. so sending 5000 man armies forces lubu to charge out with 10 k army. then you simply hit and run and dwindle his supplies.

Easy mode with 39k men at start. I only need 20k total, 10k with best archer heroes at Hu Lao gates waited for Lubu bring all of his force out and charge at my Puyang and 10k left to defense that force.

You can totally cheese the game. Pick one of the final scenarios. Choose multiple players. Have those players chose the final empires. Use Wei as primary. Have Wu and Shu gift gold and food to Wei. Transfer troops and Generals and supplies to the territories bordering the single city tribes in one of the corners. Attack and destroy that tribe and take their city. Move troops, generals, and supplies to other corner and do the same to the second one. Have Shu or Wu surrender to Wei and transfer troops, generals and supplies to that corner for that tribe. Have The other nation surrender. Win the game. Restart game doing the same thing but this time have the other nation surrender first. Transfer and destroy last tribe. Have remaining nation surrender, win the game. Now you are able to use those 4 tribes as a playable kingdom, and you are also able to choose "History of Heroes" scenario at the start because you won the game. Good luck General.

@@GyorBox I always just saved them for last. By the time they were left I had somewhere around 1,000,000 men waiting around each of their cities. Worst part was the Nanman one though. So far away.

@@AtlasCrafted -- Nah.. if you can get two, then you're set for the game. I usually grab what would be Wu territory, and take Sun territory and then take that South Eastern Tribe. It usually sets me up to take the entire southern half of the map, and then take Nanman to the South West. After that, it's just a matter of time before the map falls. Especially if I stagger the birth years for the 100... I usually have 8-12 officers to start with, and slowly gain more and more from them "coming of age". I usually leave the normal in-game officers to tend the cities, with 1-3 of the 100's to govern the city. Unless a unusually strong normal officer is unusually loyal to me, that's when I don't use a high powered officer to govern a city. I use the high powered 100 skills officers to do battles because sets of 5 100-skills officers who synergize are super super strong..lol

It took me a while too when I was just start playing but it takes time.

3 months ?that's too long.... Xiahou Yuan is like a gltichy beast in this game... pair him with a strategist and release him either with tower and another unit or his own.... he does 10 tactics a phase...you will finish Lu bu in one turn
