Here’s how to play the legendary song '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones!
We'll learn the classic opening riff, which is played on 1 string with 3 notes, making it perfect for beginners still getting to grips with picking single strings!
We'll then learn the chords for the entire song. To keep this tutorial beginner friendly, we will just use the open chords E major, A major and B7!

If it's an electric guitar you are interested in I might suggest an Epiphone Les Paul Standard. A used one can be found fairly cheap. Then if you stay interested and it's not just a passing fad, you can upgrade to nicer model. My Epiphone Standard is still one of my fav guitars to play even tho I have 3 other Epiphones that are considered "Better". I took up the guitar for the very 1st time 2 years ago at the age of 57 - You're NEVER to old to start ( I now have 5 guitars: 4 Epiphone Les Pauls and 1 Gibson Les Paul )

Well, the three-finger technique at the intro's uber-easy for the grown-ups, but what about us beginners/pre-teens? That's why when I paly Satisfaction, I use the slide method.

I learned basic classic guitar from standard musical notation and can sight play sheet music in first position pretty easily but can'tseemto transitionto modern styles, despite knowing quite a few standard chord shapes, how to do things like rest stroke, free stroke, hammer ons, pull offs, harmonics etc. I just have no idea how to do such a basic thing as strum and sing at same time. Very frustrating. I'd like to be able to play riffs and sing at same time. I am mainly a singerand managed to transitionfrom classical to modern musical styles aftermuch trying. NowI just need to be able to play sharmonyinstrumentikeguitar orkeyboards well enough to just accompanymyself or other si gers or play rhythm guitar in a band, nothing too rock style virtuosic. It'sjustthatwhen I seeguitar TAB and modernguitaristsstart talking guitar "shop"techo talk, I justgo pale and the brilliantguitarboys simply lose me. But, this looks simple enough, so I might give it a try, as everybody knows this rock classic and, if my playing isn't too atrocious, they might let me play with them.. Or I can just torture myself alone, doing it until it is fit to be shared with others. Thanks for slower, easy tofollow not too technical, orderly, step by step instructions. Might get inspiredto try others once I master this easier one.
