Rolling burnout motorcycle - from a total beginners perspective - how hard is it??
Hi all,
A bit of a different video this one. We shot the Urbane pro and Handroid MKIV launch a couple of weeks ago and had stuntman and friend Rick English with us to ride the bikes.
As part of the shoot, we asked Rick to do some motorcycle rolling burnouts etc on my bike, Suzuki GSXR 750. Throughout watching him, I thought to myself, I'd like a go at that, and then thought, let's stick the camera on as that would probably be interesting to people out there about how a total novice can pick up doing a rolling burnout or standing burnout on a motorcycle.
A couple of pointers, it was performed in our factory carpark and not on a public road, and Knox take no responsibility or liability for anyone attempting to do a rolling or standing burnout.
Hope you enjoy this one, let me know how you think I got on?
Thanks,
Aaron,
Knox

Haha, thanks John. Yeah it's fun, you should have a go when it's next time to change your tyres. Just need to learn how to wheelie now and I'll have the full poser package!! Lol. Aaron.
Nice gsxr man. Thanks for the video. Been wondering for ages how rolling burnouts work.

Nice bike 👌
With the Urbane Pro shirt, I think it would look kinda good with an included zip off hood. Also, out of curiosity, if I wanted to work with Knox to produce a product review, how would I go about that? Cheers (also, loved the burnouts and the GSXR, such a gorgeous bike)

Hi, thanks for the comment, to be honest, I've just been wearing a hoodie either under or over it depending. With the Urbane Pro you can do either, and it offers you the possibility of styling it how you want. In terms of testing and reviewing one, you'd probably just be best in buying one! Thanks, Aaron, Knox.
Good job man!

I used to do rolling burnouts on my GPZ750, it was perfect as it had a skinny rear tyre, and it did the BEST smoking rollers, I have a GSX1150EF now and I'm waiting for the rear tyre to get low . . . . . . . . .
You have self control. One more time, means I'm almost done. Lol
Good job for the first time bro....you did everything right....all you needed was more revs. Guess you're a pro by now anyways.

Thanks, appreciate it! Yes agree more throttle... Yes, getting better now, just don't do it very often due to shredding tyres etc! Would like to learn to drift next... Thanks, Aaron KNOX
Was you using the clutch at all in this video or just front brake and power?
@KnoxArmour
3 жыл бұрын
Yes, clutch and throttle to get the rear wheel spinning, you need it to get the rear tyre to break traction without stalling. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
If your going in a longer line do u eventually let go of the clutch all together or do u just get the clutch right just to get the wheels moving
@KnoxArmour

Hi, just cover the clutch once its spinning incase it goes a bit wrong. We posted an update video on how to do it here which should be more helpful. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qZqNtqOGmq29nZc.html Thanks, Aaron KNOX
Hi Aaron, what half boots are you wearing in this video?

Hi, they are Forma Slam boots. Just got them, quite good, limited protection in my opinion but all day comfortable and have been wearing them everyday. Thanks, Aaron Knox.
That was a brave act considering the size of the stamp it was executed upon =)

Aaron how have you come on your quest to learn wheelies next? Also and entirely unrelated, do you make leather jackets and it not let’s start making them

Hi, getting much better at wheelies now, check kzread.info/dash/bejne/qIKkts6Gl8fYqrg.html, where I pull some decent ones. On leather jackets, we do have some on the site, check it out on www.planet-knox.com. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
I can do a rolling burnout easy but I wanna learn how to do it in a circle/ doughnut anyone here know?

Balance.. controlling the bend/steering/little leaning and aplying brake/throttle. Can't be a much different concept than a straight rolling one can it?
@user-nb8yt2il2r
4 жыл бұрын
Just turn, it's way easier than you think. Practice on a flat gravel parking lot, you will get good practice in because it's super easy to spin on gravel.
@shadowvilln711
3 жыл бұрын
@@user-nb8yt2il2r super easy to low side it on gravel too 😂
So is it mostly clutch and front brakes
@KnoxArmour
4 жыл бұрын
Well, plenty of throttle and slip the clutch, strong front brakes and put all your body weight over the front wheel to stop it washing out. The weight over the front wheel is the most important part as that is the main risk. Then you've just got to feel it and balance. Hope that helps, Aaron KNOX
New to the channel, where can I get that hoodie?
@KnoxArmour
3 жыл бұрын
Hi, welcome! We don't make the hoody, we make the armoured shirt that goes over it, called the Urbane Pro Shirt which you can find here, www.planet-knox.com/product/urbane-pro-armoured-shirt/. Thanks!
What kinda helmet is that my dude?
It gets more difficult as the tire heats up. It's better to start cold and roll the throttle. Ill bet your neighbor's love you.

This will mess up your clutch plates and you will need to replace them unless you are pretty good at it and you just dump the clutch,thats from what i hear in some comment sections anyway
@KnoxArmour
3 жыл бұрын
I guess it you are constantly slipping the clutch, maybe... but you kind of do need to do that in order to learn. . Never had any problems with the clutch throughout my learning. I've got the rolling burnout pretty much sorted now and yes the majority of the time release the clutch quickly... however, you always need a finger on it, if the back end comes out or suddenly grips, you've got to quickly pull it back in again. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
Seems like tire is loosing grip easy,mine is sticky as hell😅

To be honest, the tarmac wasn't the grippiest, plus once you get it into it, its fairly easy to get it spinning! Aaron, Knox.
