No it needs a lubricant like grease you use wd40 to break things loose that are rusty or gummed up. Wd40 will cause it to rust more if you use it as a lubricant because it will attract more moisture

There's a story that the term "roller coaster" comes from a roller slide a little bit like this that operated for a few years in the 19th century in Haverhill, Massachusetts. (Personally, I doubt that is the real origin, but the slide was real. Instead of cylindrical rollers, it used little wheels on the track, and it was inside of a three-story building where it curled around a roller rink.)

That is super dangerous. Some idiot could fall off. If you fell forward, something like a finger might get stuck between the bars. Also it seems to frustrating considering you have to push yourself half the time.

The rides too flat and the rollers are too resistant. I thought something was off when you were able to stand on the rollers while positioning yourself on the mat. That and the fact that you had to keep pulling the sides to maintain.

Definitely doesn't have enough of an incline in relation to the friction. It's a good concept; just a little weak on the execution. (I could say the same about the video itself.)

We had a roller slide in Elementary school.... it was the best slide we had.

This is literally amazing!

So basically a dry waterslide.

Not a very good slide if you have to keep pulling yourself along.

Haoto - Anime on Piano Not really, it’s a slide, you’re suppose to slide on it, not pull yourself along it, other wise it would be a pull. This slide is just one big hunk of disappointment, it reeks of lack of maintenance with all the squeaking. No one will have a good experience with this.

Tbh,that actually looks kinda fun,but also terrifying because it's right next to the woods,that's probably why there was a ladder half way through,just in case something is there

I've been on one a bit shorter than that but its SO much fun to go on! The one i went on was oiled so it slid down so fast.

In Singapore, there's a shorter version of this slide at a park. Not sure if there are others in Singapore but that's the only one I've seen.

they're usually made for little kids, not a full grown man. I remember how much fun I had with these in Okinawa, the trick would be to squat down on your feet and push yourself along to add more speed though not pushing was fine too

You would definitely need a system where you could plumb some lubrication lines to the rollers, and the rotation of the rollers will draw the lubricant through.

All the comments about WD-40... WD-40 is not a lubricant, it evaporates after a few days, it's for un-sticking seized parts. What you want is some white lithium grease spray, or dry lube like graphite dust.

You could easily find few people being stuck together in the middle of nowhere on that one slide doing You know what ! 😆

There looks to be thousands of those rollers, each with two ball bearings. How much does that cost to build? They look like old used conveyor ones though... worn out enough that he has to keep pushing himself. And your speed can't run away down the slopes because all the rollers in front of you are stopped until you get to each one.
