Roller derby jammer drills!
I get stuck too long, time to work on getting unstuck quickly. #rollerderby #rollerskating
I had the opportunity to skate with some really great players recently and after reviewing my gameplay video realized some things I can be working on. I’m staying stuck in between the blockers in the wall a little too long before I disengage and try a different angle of attack.
My husband was also talking with @rollerderbycoaching (she was playing there as well) and she mentioned about working on popping out of the wall. If you guys like roller derby content, be sure to go check hers out. She is a top level player who really knows her stuff.
So, all that said, I’m working on these drills to build some muscle memory and agility to quickly pop out of a wall and move laterally. I’m making sure to practice moving left and right no matter which leg is forward between the blockers. Will it work? I’m not sure! But I’ll find out soon. 😄 Wish me luck skating friends! 💜

Hi! These are custom made skates. My husband adapted and mounted soccer cleats to make these. If you ever want to try it or see how it’s done, there’s a tutorial video on this channel that he made showing how to mount some up. Hope that helps and good luck with the skate search!

What skates are you using? I have Jackson's and I guess those are heavy? But I think it's time to upgrade my skates since I've been playing for over a year. But I'm having a hard time finding out more information on what the top 10 Jammer skates are. Do you have a top three that would would recommend?
