Rollei P355 Slide Projector Teardown and Repair
When my 40 year old slide projector needed fixed I searched on KZread (my go to place for how-to videos) with no luck - so I decided to make one myself as I did the repair.
A lot of the video is recorded real time as I tried (and sometimes failed) to fix the projector. Hopefully the lessons learned will help others with a similar issue.
The focus is a bit patchy in places (apologies) and for some reason the audio drifts slightly out of sync, but certainly not enough to make me redo the whole thing from scratch ;)
Hope it helps...

Brilliant commentary especially with the "grunge" found! Very well presented, informative and detailed with humour. Thank you for providing this detailed strip down, reassembly.
Hi there! Thanks for taking the time and effort to do this! Really informative. I have a York, (same as Hanimex) which seems to be the same functional design. I pulled the lamp out and stuck a 60w bulb in there ...plugged into 110v and also pulled out the lens and condenser lens. I put a piece of plastic diffuser in front of that lightbulb. Next I position my DSLR camera so it can shoot into the lens opening of the projector and take pictures of the slides. I load the slides into a stack loader, use the auto advance and a remote shutter release for the camera, and take pictures of the slides so I have them on digital. I digitize 36 slides in about 5 minutes that way. The camera is tethered to my laptop so the images are imported as they are taken. The main problem is dust on the slides, which gets picked up very clearly by a 24 megapixel camera! That makes for extra work in Photoshop or Lightroom or both. I'd like to disconnect the fan but from what you have shown here, the fan motor runs the entire carnival. Am I interpreting that correctly ...that disconnecting the fan would shut the whole thing down?
MERCI pour cette vidéo .au mins vu pour le démontage ayant un problème de courant sur l'arrivé de la lampe pas de 24 v
I have a similar model with the same issues, the carriage not feeding, this has been really useful as I couldn't figure how to dismantle the thing and as you say there are no instructions anywhere else. Thanks for your time making this

Thanks - I have received a lot of help from KZread videos over the years. I am glad to pay back to the community out there. Good luck - and any questions, just ask.

Thanks mate, you made my day. Just bought same model, & well versed in all projectors, but struggled to get case off. Just wanted to change belt. Slides advancing but struggling in reverse. Forgot to take slide arm off. Top case tight fit to chassis. Quick spray with wd40 on slide change, changed belt for new one and all good. Bugger to get case back on, protrusion on top of case has to go behind circuit board, in case it gets pushed in when inserting plug etc. After watching the case opening on your vid, I worked on my machine, and all good. Now having watched the rest of your vid, we both had same problems, eg circuit board. You much more patient than me, taking it all apart, but over the next few years you will get many thanks for your video, so thanks from me. Eric
do you know the belt size? Im going to open mine and will change the belt anyways Thanks again, relubed the slide-transport mechanism, and the fan/motor
