I keep coming back to this video for some reason. The pacing, the music, the photos, everything is so chill. Love your videos.
Pablo, this and the london series made me feel really happy and somehow nostalgic. Good content I am a subscriber now. Take care & have fun mate.
Thanks for this video! Been considering buying this camera and this is by far the best video of it. So helpful😍 Love your vlogs!!
great video pablo I love that ur using all these different cameras
dude! great vlog! 1 thing, though. your lady is Right There with you! Make All of those shots with her in the composition! these are the images youll go back to look at, again & again. no street light had ever made me go back and look at it..but a street light with a lady leaning on it.. maybe resting her head on it...and surreal-ly closing her eyes..- now, this is an image id go back and look at from time to time. use what you have...and you have it. but..different strokes, you know... :)

How the heck had I never seen your channel before? Instant sub bro! 👌🏿
Lovely trip down memory lane. My lovely black Rollie 35s was my camera of choice in the 1980s, I took it everywhere. My favourite all time camera. During last year I increasingly fell out of love with my DSLR, it seemed like a lead brick. I started to yearn for how simple things had been in the 80s and looked around. I wanted something like my old Rollie; high build and image quality with a spectacular fixed lens. I bought a Leica X113; black of course. Its been absolute bliss again. Still have the Rollie, may just get a roll of film ;-)
Your photos are unreal! Absolutely obsessed with your instagram!! Been trying to take as many photos as I can recently when I'm out and about vlogging. Top guy, proper inspiration!!

Hello, I just got done watching this video here in California USA. I was researching the Rollei 35T and was not aware there was a 35S, So I learned something. I also learned of the musical artist featured in your video. I love that soundtrack and will enjoy chilling to it myself. Peace out Al

Lots of comments re: underexposure, but I think it suits the style quite nicely. I also think Portra has some great saturation and grain (especially the 400) when underexposed. Something about that grit that I just love. Great video, man.
great vid I'm thinking about getting back into film maybe medium format, there is just something special about film photography.
Keep up the film vlogs. Love it.

Hi, Pablo, i was wondering what kind of battery are you using fot the light meter becasue as I know the original batterys are illegal in some country so I want to know an alternative. Thanks.
when u push film, do u just over expose it one stop on the ISO setting or do u also have to do something different when developing??
I love England. I'd love to spend some more time there.

I would love to see more of the Rollei 35s! Bought myself one as well. 35 euro's, a bargain. But it functions properly (exept for the framecounter). Already developed two fuji films, love the outcome. Currently developing a porta 400, aiming for a similar colour composition like your photos. Any tips for streetphotography or recommendations for film? Thanks!
That's a blast from my past Pablo, I've used that in the 80's but it wasn't my bag :-) I have done several 36 exp challenges on my channel but using a digital camera instead of film. To me film belongs in the last century, just like smoking in cinemas way too much damage done with the chemicals developing and printing it. Digital for the planet and for me ♥ Sean

Rambles with my camera until you learn about conflict minerals and mining conditions where they acquire the raw materials for your digital camera...

Digital photography pollutes the planet even more. The poisonous minerals for the electronics and batteries and the huge amount of electricity needed for the trillions of images stored on servers around the world. Additionally with digital photography one takes much more images than ever before. So, you see, it’s not as simple as you might think. Take care!
Helpful video..thanks.
Hey Pablo! Thanks for sharing this video with the Rollei 35. its indeed a beautiful brick just sometimes a bit turned off by the not so sharpness of the images when they come back. (i guess i love sharpness too much). Enjoyed the video. thanks from sharing. From Singapore
Just bagged a 35 XF, quite a different animal from the S, but hopefully the same quality or better. Tell, what was the point in pushing the ISO? Exactly what did that accomplish? And does it do any good if whoever is developing the film doesn't know? I'm trying to understand all of the whys and wherefore of pushing and pulling on these old cameras.
very nice rollei 35s

didn’t realize portra 400 was so saturated. did you bump the saturation in post? or did the push processing increase the color saturation?
very cool
Hey Pablo. I'm really interest into buy a Rollei b35 becouse the 35 t cost really too much for my pocket. Did you never tried one? Can you advance me some other cool compact film?

I miss my Rollei 35SE

Amazing Shots! Got the 35 T from my father, it's perfectly working but unfortunately i don't find the right battery for the light meter. I heard that this kind of battery isn't available anymore because it contains quicksilver. Which battery did you put in yours? Tried it with a light meter app and my DSLR as a light meter now, i'm excited to see how the first film turned out.

How/where do you get your film developed? Prints/digital (cd)? Very fast turn around between shooting and releasing the vlog. I must admit I do love the old fair ground vehicles, both styles and paint jobs.

Hi i have recently Bought a rollei 35s but the battery have died any ideas on a replacement? Cheers great videos by the way :)
@vicibox
8 жыл бұрын
you have to be careful, there are new replacements that dont use mercury but are the same size but, they are a different voltage but its easy to work out the required adjustment using another camera and just change the setting manually from the given reading. Too long ago for me to remember the offset but its easy to work out. I did it last a decade ago so excuse my memory. Do change the battery often because unlike the old mercury cell that fails suddenly at the correct voltage, the modern cells tend to lose voltage as they die ;-)

Hey I have an idea. Get a Nokonus 2 and take a role around London. I used to Cary this can in 1982 but had it stolen in my bag in Florence Italy. It has a sharp 35.. and an 80 mm prime. It's cheep and waterproof. You know how it rains in London. It a perfect EDC for the UK. PS it was used as a prophet in the James bond film Thunderball so it gas cool imprinted on it.
You're putting a lot of saturation in that Portra... if you added it in post (which you might not have, and it might just be a side effect of pushing the film to 800) maybe try something more naturally saturated like Ektar or Superia? Just a thought. I really like your style though... captured the "disorientation" of a fun fair well

Nice video. Can someone explain what he means by shooting at 800? The film is rated at ISO400, but if he's shooting at 800, does that mean he's underexposing it? If yes, how much is he underexposing it?

You’ve probably figured this out, but for others who have the same question: to put the lens back into the camera you need to 1) cock the shutter 2) press and hold the button next to the shutter 3) twist the lens to the right (if you’re looking down from the top), and push down.

With color negative film, it's always better to err on the side of overexposure. Depending on the film stock, I've seen shots overexposed 4-5 stops and still have a useable negative to make adjustments to in post. Although he pushed his film to 800, I knew f/16 and 1/125 sec were going to result in underexposure judging by the lighting conditions. It works in some shots where there are really bright lights, but most of his shots are extremely muddy looking.

+PABLO STRONG VLOGS did you set your meter to 400 and then process it at 800? Or did you set your meter to 800 and process as if it were 800?? Usually I set my meter to 200 or 320 and then process it like a normal 400 roll Beautiful images by the way!!
Thanks for posting and a Thumbs Up for using film but you should never under expose print film. On your next outing try Portra 400 at 200 asa.
