f(a)=f(b)=f(c), 3 points so there are at least 2 points j,k such that f'(j)=0 and f'(k)=0. Maybe N points with the same "y" value so there are probably N-1 points in between them where f'()=0

For Rolle's theorem, you don't need to worry about the extremum points. All Rolle's theorem is saying is that if you have f(a)=f(b) then there is a c value somewhere in the interval from a to b where the slope of the line tangent to the curve between a and b will be zero given that the function is continuous and differentiable on the interval from a to b.
