Wow, great tutorial !!! I recently started to use ball screws on my projects, I had several questions about the machining and mounting of the ball screws. I found out how to mount them but it would had been more easily if I'had checked out this video first. Two thumbs up!

i´d like to know if there is any other option other than place guides in order to keep the nut parallel to the floor, i mean that the nut never turns when the ball screw does, and only have a linear movement??? thanks!!!

You're kidding right? This showed maybe 2% of actual Ball Screw 'manufacturing'...... This was more like "here, we cut a piece of rod. now we heated it up. now we shaved pieces off'.... It didn't even show the ACTUAL MACHINING of the part! it just showed the removal of the end bits where bearings go!

*this is a cheezy way to make precision parts*

country boy ..,technically they didn’t make it and they modified it. What other way would you approach it since for you this is “cheesy”? It’s exactly how it should be done. We have had to shorten and machine new ends on ballscrews and have done it on manually machinery with no ill effect to the precision.

the final measurements tell the tale...induction heating is not cheezy, a precision CNC lathe is not cheezy, a digitally-controlled cutoff saw is not cheezy...they are modifying standard, off-the-shelf parts to a customer order.

+Wilfredo Yusti You shouldn't need ball splines for a cnc wood carver.
