"Roll the Old Chariot" is a sea shanty with uncertain origins. The title is derived from the lyrics. The chorus is adapted from the 19th-century Salvation Army hymn, 'Roll the Old Chariot,' which later evolved into a sea shanty. For this cover, I have rewritten the lyrics for each verse but the first, though they are largely in keeping with the imagery of the original.

@@kokofan50 Yes, that's right! There were different shanties/ rythms for different tasks on a ship, from pulling anchors to adjusting sails and so on. I always have a shanty playlist on, when I'm doing chores. Makes housework a lot more fun, too 😋

Could you do a version of Oro Sé Do Bheatha' Bhaile with the Jacobite Lyrics? I know you already have a version with Pádraig Anraí Mac Piarais lyrics, but i am curious to khow how the song with the original Jacobite lyrics sound. And the only versions of the song avalaible in youtube with the jacobite lyrics are very few and have very bad audio, are of very low quality or they modify the lyrics a little.
