I watched this about a dozen times now! I LOVE this guy's energy, and the song! Wish we did things like this more often.

So wonderful to hear someone giving a shanty 100% instead of the tarty choral versions that crop up for much of the time.

If I was randomly walking down the streets of New Hampshire... for some reason... and I came across these people singing sea shanty's in the middle of a thoroughfare I would instantly fall in love for New Hampshire. In fact I think I already have.

I was once a Reactor Operator at Calder Hall in Cumbria (really) We used to sing 'Reactor Shanties'. 'We're to take a circuit out, now run the 'rods in, lads. Take a circuit out, now, so watch the neutron flux. We're to bring a circuit back, so watch your doubling time, boys' 'There she goes...we've just gone critical....' Etc etc. You had to be there, really....

Now that's some shantyman. Too many folk butcher shanties with ornament and arrangement but in voice, tone, character... the lot. I could see an anchor coming up afore that lad. Nice work.

trollbot222 Nope. Berta Lovejoy is an actual redditor. Been so for 2 years. It's common knowledge. Eventually people get tired of the endless circlejerk of reddit and they find an outlet. Usually it's just in r/circlejerk but hey I love when it bleeds out.
