Question of The Week: What is a movie you watched not expecting anything incredible from the cinematography and walked away with your mind blown? My recent one is probably "5 Easy Pieces"!

I shared the same sentiment when looking at this one and the impact one. Many KZreadrs have been using the impact one to build out a comprehensive one stand KZread studio with lights, cameras, microphones, monitors. This just looks more sturdy because of the extra red support bars at the bottom. It looks like Neewer sells two versions of these stands, one with and without the boom arm. Have you tried the boom arm one ? I noticed the legs are at a 45 degree angle and I’m assuming this provides more support to the center column when you have a telescopic/boom arm/cross bar. The design almost mimics a tripod. Going back and forth about which one to buy because the one with the boom arm doesn’t have a grip head limiting the usability.

I can't say I've tried it to build an all-in-one rolling studio, but I did find it to be quite sturdy in my testing. I have a impact low-body combo stand which is designed pretty similar to the impact version of this rolling baby pin stand, and I do like the construction of it, but I thtink with the height aspect the added supports seem helpful. The two different versions of this stand and the one with the boom arm are moreso for different purposes. The images on the boom listing show the ability to have the boom arm go straight up for extra height, but I don't think I would trust that grip as a joint, especially with weight on the end. At that height better (more expensive, but rentable) tools would be the more useful and safer options. If you aren't planning to extend it all the way like that, it appears it could be used similarly to a rolling combo stand, and the leg angles reflect that better force distribution. But if you are just needing to go up and down with it and not planning to do a lot of booming of lamps, the one I talk about here would probably fit the needs more directly. Since I haven't used the other once I can't talk about the differences directly, but that is my view on the differences and the differences of usability. I would say that based on the pole thickness in the images the amazon listing has, I would be hard pressed in general to put any lamp that needs a junior pin onto it while being boomed, lighter babypin lights would probably be fine with proper weights and support. As for the grip head aspect, I would say that a c-stand would work better for most grip head applications anyways because the boom arm is already included on the gobo arm. Not sure if any of these thoughts really help you with your decision, but if you have any more questions, please feel free to ask!

Hope you like them - I know I really like the regular rolling stand! I would be curious to hear about the boom aspect and how it kinda converts from being a vertical stand to a boom stand.
