I agree 100% with your advice, Ash. Thomas is very lucky to be able to purchase a discontinued yellow OP. It is a lovely piece and I hope he wears it and enjoys it. Watches were made to be worn and enjoyed, not to sit in a bank vault. Cheers!

I think we are going to see some watches (not all, some will always be unobtainable) drop in price and I think the decline has already set in. Let's face it most Rolexes are not worth two or three times the price they are going for now. You can also debate whether they are worth their retail price, but that's a whole other discussion. Great vid Ash, I really enjoy your watch content. I like you am fortunate enough to have a good collection of quality timepieces. I recently got the call for the new Riddler GMT 2 Lefty, the market rate is extremely high but I could not let myself sell it and potentially lose the trust I have with my AD which as you know is hard earned. I am now considered a VIP by them and appreciate everything I have from them.

Good chat, and I agree. If one tries to keep a foot in both the wearer and investor camps I suspect you will enjoy neither to the full. Not judging those who wish to invest - each to their own - but they will never connect with that timepiece and are denying themselves that experience. Quite the pocket/neck combo 👍

Nice watch!

Although a yellow dial is nothing new and can be found throughout numerous brands it will defitely make your watch noticeable as noone is wearing one, not that I have seen. The only thing is to make it fit in with your attire as it's attracts a lot of attention.

Buy it and wear it to enjoy. It’s not worth grey market prices so you shouldn’t feel nervous about wearing it. It’s probably worth that Rolex charges for it.

I bought a two tone DJ 30 years ago. I put myself in the list for a yellow OP but sadly it was discontinued before I got the call.

I remember the comments when they launched. Garish, too loud for the Rolex fan base, who will buy them? Rolex is taking a gamble with these. Now of course every watchmaker and his dog is selling coloured dial watches.

I would love that watch but with a dark blue dial for my first Rolex. Slightly cheaper alternative to my all time favourite watch, the Explorer, for which I have noticed the price sky rocket in the last 3 years in the second hand market, from affordable to way out of my budget.

Ash, I’d love to see your video comparison between the Tudor and Rolex GMTs, since you own both. It would be a popular video I promise!

I hear the secondary market is tanking a bit at the moment...I wonder if its because of the ramping up of production and increased availability from ADs?
