Nice video. I liked the fact you spoke about how its prone to scratching at the top of the bezel.

My favorite Yachtmaster as well... the blue dial version that is. Well done and a great addition!

I've been wanting the blue-dialed Yacht-Master for so long now. The contrast amongst the platinum, sunburst blue, and red accents just makes it so stunning and classy. Definitely the perfect bridge between sporty and dressy. Now if they could just have diamond markers and a red date wheel then it would be perfect!

I did exactly the same on my 40th last year but I opted for the platinum dial as oppose to blue, nice watch!

Absolutely beautiful timepiece, congratulations on upgrading from your Planet Ocean. Cant decide between this or a SS Daytona. Some people will call me crazy considering the SS Daytona's heritage but hey, i love the new Yacht-Master.

+EnzoferrariV12 i presume you mean the clasp is different this is because it is a newer release and the bracelet has been updated on this model

I too have this watch, it is prone to scratching if I was to be honest not my best Rolex but still a tidy piece,

At 3:32 you said platinum dial, think you meant platinum bezel that is bi-directional, but beautiful watch!

Simply Beautiful. I just got one for my big 40 too. Love this model more than the the "clunky" sub. How do you like it thus far?

It's superb but needs to be worn in the sunshine outdoors or you don't get the full value look of the Sun-ray dial and its many shades of blue

Yeah as its different and I prefer black sub. Also not a fan of gold on a watch.

Is this a glidelock clasp, like the submariner, or just a little (fixed) extention?

Its not the glidelock like the sub, its a half link extension piece within the clasp

Very nice piece indeed. Interesting that you said that this was supposed to be an upgrade to the Submariner model...do you have a reference for that? It would surprise me if that was the case given they're very different things indeed, such as the bi-directional bezel on this (which is something you absolutely do not want on a diver) and the greatly reduced water resistance of this model (just a third of the depth of the Submariner at 100m vs 300m).

Yeah its aimed at a different market not a diver more of a dress watch bit like an aqua terra for example, dressy but still sporty enough as well, a pretty versatile piece.

the color of this dial, its quite different than the deep blue, it looks more greenish blue... is this a newer version?

At 4:43 you can see its blue better. The lugs are smaller than the sub so it wears smaller the sub is a bit thicker as well

Aqua terra would have been a mistake if choosing between this.

Great watch. I get sick of hearing "you see Submariners all over the place" You guys who say that 1.) Realize there is a reason for it's popularity and 2.) it's still a $9,000 watch with tax, you think $9,000 watches just grow on trees? I'm not saying it's a HUGE amount of money, but come on... I live in a fairly wealthy area and I don't see a lot of people wearing Rolex watches, period.

congrats mate not my stile though i love subs and Daytonas and datejust 2. its a very expensive Collection but i love them, i was thinking os yactmaster Before but the platina and all..... not popular and iconic or timeless, make sure you buy one of the popular ones

On the contrary, I'd rather buy the non popular ones and not be like everyone else. Sub and Daytona are gorgeous pieces don't get me wrong, but I chose a YM over a Sub because In was interested in something different from what everybody aspires to own. If money was unlimited I'd probably own every single model, but since I have to chose, I went for the uncommon piece.
