I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I really enjoy watching your videos it’s informative, and entertaining than most watch channels. That’s coming from someone who doesn’t even own or thinking about owning one. I’ll maybe dip my toes in the cool aid someday. Other than Tokyo, Japan is such a mystery to most viewers especially from the western parts of the world. It would be nice to give us a brief description about the city, town, or district, and what they’re known for- a little culture perhaps before jumping right in-just a thought. Keep up the good work! Lastly, I really like the pre ceramic GMT. If there’s one Rolex I’d want to own that would be it.

I still love the two tones but to me there was 2 watches that stood out and I would buy immediately and they was the ceramic serti sub and the Turn o graph.

I just wish I could find my first Sub. Bought from Gauss and Sons in Gainesville, Fl in 1998. Had it a good 10 years and sold it when I moved on to another piece, would love to have it back.

I’d say that mark 1 Kermit or the black dial GMT master 2 were my favorite. Prices weren’t too bad there

Thanks for your videos, Austin. Always nice to see whats available in Japan. Looking to buy my first Rolex. I have inherited a couple (from my grandfather and father - 1960's Oyester Royal 34mm and Bluesy Sub 2004)... Was thinking of something "modest" like the explorer (39) that I can wear everday as a below the radar watch. What are your thoughts? I currently wear a Seiko (skx007) as my everyday watch.

Thank you! That, or a modern OP with a nice dial color. 2021 will be the year of the Explorer line, so it'll be interesting to see what happens to the Explorer (and Ex. 2).

I was looking at Omega Seamasters on ebay the other day and at least 90% were in Japan .

The new BLNR will go down as the years go by and more are churned out. Nice 5 digit Coke. Really want one of those preferably SEL and holes case.

Agree on the all black 16710, holes case with solid end links what a cracking piece. I'd pick that up and grab a jubilee bracelet for it. Nice one Austin.

I wonder how much of a kick-back the AD owners get selling all their steel models to their favorite flippers? Hell, how many of these shops are owned by the same people who own the ADs? Hmmm...

He’s tried on two tones and they just don’t look that good on him imo. I think the only piece with precious metals that would good on him is a solid rose gold GMT or an Oysterflex Yachtmaster.

How about preluding with some more outdoor setting shots of the neighborhood and some kawaii-ko chans walking around?

Starting to see Grey market sellers charging a premium for swiss only dials. But recently saw a deal for a naked 16600 swiss for 8500 usd. Very tempting but I think I would prefer the 116600 but those are lots of $$$.

I already own an Explorer 2 Polar 40 mm. What would you recommend I buy next ? I like pre ceramic, non heavy watches preferably with solid end links and holes cases. I am thinking 14060M , Sub date pre ceramic , solid end links and holes case or a Coke, Pepsi or Black GMT but considering I already have a GMT function watch, I am leaning towards a Sub , preferably no date I think? I like the look of the pre ceramic Sea Dwellers but I think they would be too heavy for me, as they are thicker and heavier than a pre ceramic Sub ; would you know the weight difference in grams between the two ?The weight of the Explorer 2 I have is the approximately the max I would like , It’s a holes case non solid end links , I think from 1995 ( bought it from a dealer with box,but no papers). I think I could handle the weight difference from the solid end links . Looks and collectability are important to me, but comfort on wrist is number one, otherwise I have to wear it on a NATO or rubber strap and that is not the same. Nice videos mate and beautiful family, congratulations!

Kermit would be my pickup from the watches shown. I regret not picking one up for 4-5000

Good question - the SD's are a tad thicker, but I don't think that would be the reason. The Sub is an icon, so that alone could account for it. Also, many buyers aren't as into watches as many of us, and I bet some don't know the SD even exists, or was 40mm in the past.

Are they too expensive for those prices?

Wow, conditions are top on most of the watch shown, not a sight of an overpolished datejust

Keep in mind that if you're a tourist, you wouldn't have to pay sales tax. So you'd get 10% off the prices in this video.

Yes, tourists don't have to pay the 10% sales tax. The price for the Pepsi is about 5 grand more!

A Coke is easy, the Jubilee is harder - most are on Oysters. As for price, they start at 1,500,000 Yen (you can do the conversion into your own currency). Prices seem to have stabilized here, but that could change in the future - in which direction is anyone's guess.

Problem is (opinion) "kermit' looks off style and unaesthetic. Dont y think kind of un-Rolex' vs usual industrial level style acumen.

@@kyle618 I didn't like the name at first either but it's really a lot different from the kermit. Kermit was 40mm with aluminum bezel, no gliding clasp different movement. I see it as a different watch that's why I've come to accept the starbucks name.

I agree but Japanese are obsessed with details. They'll probably pay extra if the warranty card is slightly more shiny than usual lol

Swiss watches are copied all over the world,that is not OK.
